Top Tips for a Fun Weekend | Family Adventures in 13 Minutes

Family that runs together, friends together. Let's run! Yeah, Nina has like 50 mosquito bites all on her butt. They like your butt. You're gonna be on YouTube, Sadaf.
There you are.
It doesn't look very exciting. Okay, then if we get stung by crazy mosquitoes, it's your fault, okay? Hello everyone, happy weekend! We were supposed to be camping today, but they said it was rained out.
Yep.
Which doesn't really make sense because we haven't had a lot of rain and it's a beautiful day. But Hayden is off for the weekend and we were supposed to have a weekend to ourselves to go camping and have fun. So we are gonna spend the weekend in the city doing some fun stuff and thought we would take you along with us. It was Nina's idea. Yeah, you want them— you want them to come along with us? All right, here we go. There you go. Breakfast. Okay, we are at— where are we?
Oh, I don't know. Evergreen Brickworks.
What are we doing here?
I don't know.
Oh, good. This is one of Toronto's largest farmers markets. Every Saturday morning from 9 or 8 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon. We are a little bit late. It's like 12:15, so we have 45 minutes because I spent a long time with the coffee.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
Okay. Nina made, uh, she sent an email saying she wanted to go to check out some farmers markets. This is for you.
Oh, did I say that?
Yeah, you did, like a couple weeks ago.
Okay, I don't remember.
See, I remember.
Yeah, okay.
Evan remembers everything. Okay, come on, let's go. We can buy something. In the Vespa. That's okay. We can try to make it fit. We can squish it in. Get something small. Nina went to the bathroom, so I do what I always do when I have some spare time—
check your emails. So next up is Kensington Market.
Alina looks really little from this angle. Huh?
Whoa, careful! Holy cow! Step.
There, you can stand on the step, huh? You still look pretty little. Kensington Market is— what's Kensington Market? It's a place for a lot of artists. A lot of like fun stores, artistic shops. Super active in the summer. And so we are going to check it out and see what's new.
Hey, besos!
Roberto Blake, this is for you, buddy.
What is that?
It's art of sculptures. Should we do that at our place? Nice sculptures in the yard, very welcoming and friendly. Okay, you said you were hungry, right?
Yeah.
Did you look across the street? Where?
Where? Juicen. Triple I.
Is there a Black's circular sign?
Black's circular sign, yes. Chicken waffle? Oh, okay, chicken waffle, okay.
Nina's obsessed with this game now.
Where's it?
Where she's serving fake food to fake people. Here is our lunch. Nina can't see it.
Hey, can you put it out, please?
So how you feeling? Good.
Feel better.
I'm feeling full.
I'm not so bad.
You want something else?
No.
Okay, we're going to move on.
Yeah.
Is it done?
Mhm.
You want to go What are you growing?
I was gonna ask you the same thing.
Pipes. Yeah, wow, that's decent there.
What are you doing, babe?
Putting my pants on.
How come you're wearing pants?
To get on a Vespa.
Why can't you wear the dress on the Vespa?
Do you want me to flash everyone?
You might be able to hear the background music. Next stop.
Salsa on St. Clair.
Salsa on St. Clair. So every year there is a big salsa party in Toronto where they shut off one of the streets, a main street, and it is all about salsa. So we're going to go check it out. Have some fun. Yeah.
Dance. Salsa. Okay, Facebook friends.
Accidentally tagged Jessica as Nina. We'll have to show the picture. I was looking through it quickly and then realized, oh, wait a minute. Nina called me out on it. That's not your wife, that's Jessica. But they're both the same height. See, it's pretty close. Yeah, so there you go. So you have to forgive me. So we're starting to crash out. I think a little bit too much sun.
Yeah, and dehydrated.
Dehydrated. And no hats. Yeah. So we're going to go home?
Yep.
Relax?
Mm-hmm.
Okay. Fun day.
Yeah.
Good.
Thank you.
Okay, day 2 of our weekend adventure. How did we finish yesterday? We came home.
I started gardening.
You gardened. You got a lot of mosquito bites.
Yeah.
What did I do?
I don't know.
I cleaned up. I think I cleaned up a lot, actually.
No.
Yeah.
Okay, whatever.
Then we played some League of Legends. Yeah. Nina wanted to keep playing. It's like past midnight. Let's play another game. Let's play another game. But we went to bed. Then I woke up this morning to Nina watching my YouTube channel. Because she forgot to turn off the volume on her phone, so I woke up—
I know I did! I don't know why I didn't turn off the media ones. It only turned off the ringtone.
Yeah, well, it was not turned off. So I woke myself up this morning. That was fun. And now we are off for some more adventures. Where are we going?
I don't know.
Hmm, surprise.
But you asked me to bring the bug spray.
First stop? Probably breakfast.
Yeah.
Okay, so what I've got planned is we're going to go to Hamilton, which is about an hour outside of Toronto, and do a nature hike through all the Hamilton waterfalls. So Nia is going inside Tim Hortons, our favorite spot, to get us some breakfast while I figure out what we're going to do on this hiking trip. So this is kind of frustrating. We drove 1 hour, over an hour, we got lots of traffic on the way.
We drove over 1 hour and it's closed. What is this?
So Hamilton is famous for its waterfall walks.
Oh really?
Yeah, so we're supposed to go on a 3.5 kilometer hike, okay, through here, okay, and the scenic walk with a bunch of we passed like 5 different waterfalls that you can take pictures of.
Oh, that would be nice.
I know you like nature.
Oh no, so sad. It's okay, next time.
It's a beautiful day. Yeah, what are we gonna do?
I don't know, drive home.
We're gonna contact your friends?
I don't know.
Nina has friends who live in Hamilton that we don't see often because it's pretty far, so we're gonna see if we can connect with them. When life hands you lemons What do you do?
I don't know.
You make lemonade. We'll continue on. So we were driving and I found this place. And we discovered something called the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. And there's this red trail here that we can walk around. And I can't give you the waterfalls, but we're exploring.
Let's see what happens.
Of course, the best shoes to hike with are my Vibram Five Toe shoes. Comfortable. Alright, so question for you guys. We're at a fork in the road. This is a loop. So we can go left, we can go right. Either way we're going to end up back here and have to go back home. For whatever reason, I always want to go right at a loop. We went right at the first loop. I want to go this way. I wonder what that says about me. Anyway, I don't know if that's insightful. Where do you guys go? You got a fork in the road, do you do the same thing each time? I'm curious. Let me know in the comments. Where do you go?
I go left.
You go left, I go right.
I always go left.
I always go right. What does that mean?
I don't know. We have opposite personalities.
Opposite, huh? Why don't we go left this time for you?
Okay. ¡Hola!
So we're over halfway done. And what I really wanted to do was see an animal of some kind. Some kind of wild animal. We've got flowers, we've got butterflies. There were rumors that there were deer around here. The only wild animal I've seen so far This one is the nina jonas back here, but I see it every day, so it's not that wild anymore. So we're gonna hunt for more animals and see what we can find. I found an animal. It's just a squirrel. Do something, squirrel, you're on YouTube. You're gonna be a star soon. Give us something special. Yeah! Nice jump, buddy. Yeah! Oh, we finally made it back. It was way longer than we thought. We need food. We're hungry, hangry. We need water. We need a washroom. Nina's not super happy.
Dehydrated. Tired.
Dehydrated and tired. So we're gonna stop by our friend's place, relax, and get water first, and then relax. Okay. Okay, so we made it back home. What's the summary? We went to our friend's place. Yeah, we had some water. Yeah, you got to go to the bathroom. We relaxed. We got a lot of show and tell with the kids. Yeah, you still have your sticker.
Yes.
Nina got a sticker. I got a sticker too. Mine was a unicorn. Nina got— Nina got—
Tinkerbell.
Tinkerbell. Mine fell off because of the sweat. Then we went to McDonald's.
I know, you were craving McDonald's.
I was craving McDonald's. We're supposed to be doing healthy stuff, but I got a Big Mac combo and Nina got a Quarter Pounder combo. Extra pickles for both of us. And then we drove home and we— we at first were very quiet because we were just—
eating.
Stuffing the food in our face, and then we're both happy, and then we're both very quiet again because the food made us sleepy. Uh, and so now we're gonna go— what, clean up, have a shower? I have to make a playlist. We got some dancing tonight, make some chili for dinner, and that's it. So is it a good weekend? Pretty good.
Thank you.
Okay, so thank you for joining us on our weekend. What else do you have? That's it? Continue to believe, and we'll see you soon. Bye!
