Where you should FOCUS to stay motivated - Evan and @SKellyCEO - Lunch & Earn

SKELLYCEO explains how to stay motivated by setting a clear long-term "moon mission" and working backward into concrete first, second, and third steps. Without visible progress, confidence erodes. He recommends a structured routine that outlines what to achieve today, this week, month, and quarter, turning abstract goals into tangible tasks.
In order to get motivated, do you focus more on benefits close to the present moment or away from the present moment?
Great question. I think it's really important to imagine your destination, know where you're going to go, what your moon mission is, and how you can sort of get there working backwards. But literally, you know, with any big journey, it's the first step, it's the second step, it's the third step. And you know, and I know, you can lose confidence if you're not actually delivering, you're not on track, you drift, you listen to all the cynics, they just kind of take the oxygen away from you. So what's really important is you kind of wake up in the morning with a structured routine, almost like, what do I want to get out of it today? What do I want to do for customers this week? What do I want to do this month? What do I want to do this quarter? And you break it down like that and it gives you massive self-confidence, massive belief. You're on the destination to be successful.
Moon mission. I like it. This guy says a lot of things that you got to pick up. I like it. I'm taking notes. I'm going to rewatch this broadcast. Anyway, I feel like I answered that a little bit at the top where I was talking about the big whys and the little whys. You need both, right? It's not only focus on the long term and only focus on the short term. You got to have both. I think if you're too long-term focused, you'll lose motivation. Short-term. And if you're too short-term focused, then you're like, why am I doing this? It doesn't have a bigger impact.
So really, you gotta, you gotta have a mix. Gotta have a mix. Hey, just one thing. We're in Toronto, right? I know this guy's a massive Blue Jays fan. Go Jays! There's so much that we can learn from the world of sport. You know, the coach, and you, Vince Lombardi, or whoever it is, in terms of having a big plan, you know, winning the series. But that just doesn't happen by magic. It happens by a lot of hard work, a lot of training, a lot of discipline. A lot of watching videos, a lot of, you know, decomposing how every minute of the game is played, every minute of the training routine, and connecting the two is absolutely vital to success.
