This 2023 conference paper (chapter) argues that Temporary Works (TW) — the short-lived, contractor-controlled structures that support construction — form a convenient “mini” life cycle to pilot Circular Construction (CC) approaches. It proposes a high-level framework of three actions (identify TW component properties; collect/report via a TW Materials Passport; create a TW reuse network/marketplace) supported by three technologies (Digital Twin, asset/data management, distributed ledgers) and illustrates integration with existing TW procedures (Leighton Asia TW0–TW4 forms). The paper concludes that a Temporary Works Materials Passport (TWMP) tied to TW procedures could enable traceability, reuse markets and resource savings.
