Opportunity for Local Businesses #substack #shorts

HubSpot now lets local businesses track whether they show up in AI search results. Only 1.2% of local businesses are currently visible, creating an early-adopter advantage similar to the SEO boom. One client got five leads in a day from AI-generated queries.
Where are they going to go? It's too easy to recode what they have. But yeah, you start to look at these types of use cases and you start to understand, oh boy, they're going to get really deep into organizations now.
Yeah, exactly. They're just going to, because I mean, who's going to move their data, right? On that, especially if you're big. But what's cool is HubSpot comes down for a free version too. And the small businesses can get to this very easily within that environment. So the other thing that they did is they brought in AI search visibility that you can actually track inside of that. So HubSpot did the embeddable AI search. Google Analytics actually has this as well now. So we're starting to finally get good metrics on are you showing up in AI or not? The bad news is only 1.2% of local businesses are actually showing up in AI search. And that is a problem for your local business. Even if you were in the 3-pack on the calendar, that doesn't necessarily mean you're showing up for AI search. Yeah.
And that 1.2 is the key. It's, we're in this period of time, I don't know how long it's going to last, but it's brief where you have so much opportunity to be that first 5%, that first 10%. And once whatever that threshold is hit, there's going to be a whole lot of other stuff that has to be done. But It's just wide open right now.
This is just— Well, if you remember, we saw this at the beginning of SEO too. People who reacted to search had a 10-year lead on everybody else.
Yeah.
And all this, and, and, you know, what we're finding too with our clients is those that have done this and are stuck at the top are not getting pulled back. Like there's not replacements on these questions. They are owning all that spot in AI and it's bringing in real value for them. Kurt told me he got 5 leads from GPT the other That's awesome.
Just in a day. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. That's pretty cool. All right. So finally, we usually do a little bit of legal things. So you are now responsible as, as business, um, for what your AI does. So there's a lot of bills coming. The most prolific happened here in Colorado, California, and it basically makes sure that, that, you know, you, whatever your AI produces, you're responsible for, which I think is important. Absolutely. And so, you know, don't sleep on the legislation on this and make sure that whom you're working with and whatever you're creating with AI is meeting legal guidelines.
