Mal aimed for a 48-second 200-meter time trial but ran 50-53 seconds. His coach explains that missing the goal isn't failure, just feedback on fitness and mindset. What matters is the effort and hunger to improve.

This is Mal's personal best attempt, aiming for 48 seconds for 200. 50 seconds. Uh-oh, got to pick it up a little. Yep, good looking straight. 53 seconds. We're slowing. 6:37. 2 seconds shy of your PB. Why is it so hard? Because we have more work to do. It is good to realize that it's not easy. It makes us more hungry to get up in the morning and to put in the effort. If it would be super easy for you to PR right now, you can keep doing what you're doing. When we set a goal and we try to go out for a workout and we don't hit those, that doesn't mean the workout was a failure. You put in a solid effort, and sometimes it's just a check-in on where we're at fitness-wise and where is our mind at and where's our body at. Some days it goes easier than other days. You gave it a good effort. Proud of you. Nice work, dude.
