Most runners benefit from rotating multiple pairs of shoes rather than wearing one all the time. Road shoes, trail shoes, daily trainers, and race shoes each serve different purposes. The Nike/Adidas Pegasus often goes on sale for around $80 and performs comparably to pricier options.
All the brands have a basic trainer that you start off with. And I, I think that they sit down with their team and they're like, this is our staple offering.
So yeah, there are different categories. There's road running shoes, there's trail running shoes. And then once you get into those sectors, there's daily trainers, there's race day shoes, there's tempo shoes. And yeah, recovery shoes.
It can be pretty overwhelming getting really seriously into the sport. You're going to get so much more enjoyment out of having a rotation. If you choose a shoe on the looks alone, there are some very good-looking cheap running shoes. I mean, if you go to running shoes on Nike's website or Adidas, it'll return every athletic shoe that they have pretty much. You could get the Pegasus on sale for $80, and it'll be almost the same price, and it's a totally different experience.
