Gary Brecka talks with Jim Stoppani about creatine's effects beyond muscle building. Research shows it may improve cognitive function and reduce neuroinflammation, with meta-analyses demonstrating measurable gains in brain performance.
Why is it now crossing the boundaries into being no longer just a bodybuilding supplement? Where does the data fall on cognitive function, neuroinflammatory conditions?
Yeah, there's a lot of interesting data on creatine, not for muscle building. And one of the most discussed is the brain benefits. And so there's research, you know, single studies, meta-analysis studies where they take a bunch of studies and sort of look at them all and see that all the results kind of come out the same. It's a study of the studies, and what the studies of the studies show is that taking creatine can provide some cognitive benefit.
