In this presentation, the speaker frames molecular hydrogen as a cellular “supervisor” that acts as a selective antioxidant. He explains that hydrogen can enhance muscle mass and exercise recovery by modulating inflammatory and oxidative stress pathways. The talk highlights hydrogen’s interaction with other hormetic stresses—heat, cold, and exercise—showing that hydrogen temporarily amplifies the stress response, then accelerates the return to homeostasis. Unlike cold exposure, which reduces blood plasma flow and thus limits delivery of platelet‑derived growth factors, hydrogen increases plasma flow, supporting faster healing. When combined with exercise, hydrogen spikes inflammation and oxidative stress higher during the workout, but then drives a quicker drop back to baseline, allowing harder training and faster recovery.
