Gary Brecka and Speaker B explain how to go vegan without tanking your health. Skip processed plant-based products and focus on whole food proteins like nuts, legumes, and soy. Choose non-GMO grains, since most GMO crops are engineered for herbicide resistance, not nutrition.

If you're going to be vegan, you really need to be very well prepared. You need to know what you're doing. And it is all about preparation because just to maintain those levels is particularly tricky. Sourcing it, getting your nuts, legumes, your soy, what are you eating to get that protein in? And the other thing I would be really, really, really steer well clear of is any of those processed plant foods with a green thing that look healthy. They are evil because they say they're really healthy and they are really. At least when you buy haribos, you know you're buying sweets.
If I was vegan, I would be really, really cautious about my source of grains. I would make sure that the grains are non fortified, non enriched and that they're also non gmo. We modified these crops to make them resistant to glyphosate. We didn't modify them to increase their nutritional density or to increase the yield of crops. We modified them so that the poison wouldn't kill the plant. So to pull nutrients out of genetically modified crops is very, very difficult.
