In this interview excerpt, Gary Brecka asks Tyler LeBaron how beginners should begin using hydrogen water. LeBaron emphasizes the need for informed consent, noting that the field is emerging and there is no evidence that higher concentrations are less effective than lower ones. He recommends starting with a 12 ppm hydrogen tablet and discusses when to take it, particularly in relation to exercise, though the exact timing is not fully detailed in the excerpt.
So for somebody that's new to hydrogen water, what is their entry point to start consuming hydrogen water if they've never consumed it before?
I think that people should have an informed consent. They should understand, hey, there's an emerging area, but there are no studies for hydrogen water where a higher concentration is less effective than a lower concentration.
So if you're going to do it, taking a tablet that's 12 parts per million, when would you consume it?
Just consume it daily. Like, I do hydrogen water before I exercise, and I do like inhalation of hydrogen gas post-exercise because it's not like caffeine. If you want the benefits of caffeine to help you exercise, you actually just take it before you exercise, right? That's not true with hydrogen. Hydrogen is going to provide a benefit that kind of stacks on top of itself over time. Consistency is the most important. And now if you're really thinking about some— something important to you, then yeah, take the hydrogen before you exercise. But for that matter, take the hydrogen after you exercise also.
