Gary Brecka talks with Dr. Jigar Gandhi about why symptoms matter more than diagnoses. Most autoimmune diseases labeled idiopathic actually have identifiable causes. Remove the blockage, Brecka argues, and your body heals itself without pills you can't absorb.
I just recently met a doctor in St. Louis and he said something very special to me.
He's like, I treat the symptom, not the diagnosis. 80 and 90 plus percent of all autoimmune disease is idiopathic, meaning of unknown origin. I just don't believe that anything in the human body is idiopathic, but a diagnosis should not be out of thin air.
We're so into diagnosis. Look at the symptoms. What are the symptoms? How are we going to challenge the body to fix itself? So if we get rid of whatever's blockage, the body can heal. And that's what I love about the human body, because the human body can heal and it heals really well. You get a pill but it can't digest, then how's it going to work? It's like, let's go back to the basics.
