A short motivational talk by Gary Kadi explaining how the ego's internal voice hijacks presence and creates inauthentic behavior. Kadi urges listeners to notice when they 'buy in' to self-critical thoughts, place a 'doorman' at the door of their thoughts, and practice showing up from underlying identity (authentic presence) rather than from deficit-driven survival strategies.

Your ego is going to keep darting at you. If you listen to it, believe in it and engage, then you get hooked like a fish. And you're operating from that place. That's why it's hard to be present. Because you can't be present if you're relying on the voice to guide you, because it's just going to send you all over the place like a frigging crazy town. So we want to break free from that and you want to go and begin to hear your thoughts. If I'm listening, engaged and believing in it, right like that, I suck. I'm not good enough. I shouldn't be here. That's not true. That's just some ego spewing stuff that has never been true. But I've been believing it. Now we're going to un collapse that and you're going to put a doorman at the door of your thoughts. And your exercise this week is to begin to notice when you're buying in and believing it, because then you're going to come from this deficit and then you're going to try to do the survival mechanism that gets you there. Like, I'm going to be smarter. I'm going to work hard, I'm going to do really cool things. I'm going to dress well, I'm going to look good. All those things are driven by, I'm not good enough. I don't belong here. So I'm going to show you that I do. See, that's where the inauthenticity comes from. But when you come from the identity, it's who's underneath. When you're just flowing with things, you're connected.
