Stora | Nick's Experience with Stora, One Year In

Nick runs a self-storage site and switched to Stora after a year with a system that demanded constant computer work or a full-time receptionist. Stora automated his bookings and payments, added a mobile app, and gave customers a map showing which units were available.

This has made my life a lot easier and maybe lost about it. I previously signed up with a different company and their system was okay but you had to be, it was very hands on. You had to sit in front of the computer the entire day basically to answer calls, to be able to put know, book people onto the, onto the system, move people in, move people out. But with store it's just fully automated. Everything, literally everything's taken care of. People, you know, they could go on the website, come as, you know, part of the package. Yeah straight the website people can book, put their payment details in and it's just completely hands off. Yeah. Interactive map I find handy especially when I got. Quite often customers want to come to the site first to have a look around, have a look at different size units. And it's simple. Obviously when I've got 170 odd units, hard to remember which ones are full and which ones are empty. So with the app, I've obviously got the app on my phone I can quickly look and see on the interactive map exactly which units are empty so I can open them up to show customers obviously which ones are full. And it's also interactive so it'll tell me ones are due to move out or ones where people do to move in. I was signed up with another company just prior to opening and quickly realized that it was. I would have to have constant access to a computer. So if my phone rang for something to book a unit I'd have to either say look I sorry I'd have to bring you back or I'd have to kind of get to a computer to open one up. But with Stora it's, you know, it can, the biggest change is people can just book on their own or. And it's so simple I've actually got it, I got the app on my phone so if, if a customer does ring I can put them on loudspeaker and I can still book them in just on my mobile phone. Whereas the other company I was with before, there's no way of that. You have to either have a receptionist working, you know, nine to five every day or oh, I'd have to, you know, say I'm sorry, I'll ring you back sort of thing. So that, that was game changing really. Yeah, it was great. I, I think what was it? Probably an hour long maybe it was, I can't quite remember. I would have took of talking you through the system. It might even be less now because it's so simple to use. It wasn't, you know, it didn't take a lot of onboarding because I had the access to it before my site was opened. Just spent a couple of days playing around on it. And it's, it's, it's so easy to use. Anyone can use it, literally. In fact, I've had all. I went all this a couple months ago and I asked my father to look after business and he was simply don't be picked up, no time, pretty much. I would say every self storage owner business, whether it's indoor, outdoor, small, large, would all benefit from the website, through the booking process, the identification. It just comes across as being such a professional outfit, you know, even if you are one man with 20 containers in a small yard somewhere from, from the website and the booking process, you know, you literally are competing against the National.
