Gene St. Louis explains why established dentists hire consultants: to get neutral feedback on whether their practice delivers the financial and lifestyle returns they want. He points to client wins like better schedules, improved profitability, and reduced chaos.

I often get asked by established dentists, why would I join a consulting firm, what are you going to do for me? Or I've had coaches before, and you know what? You pick up a few pearls, but my staff hates that. I would say to you, ask yourself, are you taking home what you want to take home and. And what you deserve to take home? Is your sweat equity in your business reflective in what matters to you? Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with money. Maybe it has to do with time. And in that, what is your legacy? What are you going to leave in your practice? Are you going to sell it? Are you going to just close the doors? And so when you're looking at a coach for consulting in your practice, my feeling is, is that if the coach is good, they're going to look at your practice with a set of eyes that are neutral. Meaning it's not about selling you consulting, it's about looking at your practice to say, hey, what are you doing right? You didn't get to this level after 20, 30 years because you're doing things wrong. You obviously got here because you're doing a lot right. What could you do better? What could improve? And so looking at it with a fresh set of eyes, in my opinion, is the way to embrace, hey, I want to talk to a coach. I want to explore this. I've had many consulting clients who are established dentists who have been doing this for 10, 15, 20, 25 years who have joined. And it said, you know what? I knew I needed a little tweaking, but it was great. I really can say my day is so much different in my schedule than it was prior to you coming on board, or my profitability is so much better than it was prior to you coming on board. Not everyone wants more profit. It's not always about that. Sometimes it's about quality of life, sometimes it's about balance, Sometimes it is about, please stop the chaos and the drama in my office. And so I would hope that you would take a deeper dive into a conversation with us to explore how might we be able to help you in your practice.
