A song about starting creative work even when you feel flat and uninspired. The speaker argues that showing up daily trains the muse to arrive on time, and that small actions like walking the dog can spark moments of flow worth capturing on your phone.
Feeling flat, I nap. The calendar says right now. I trust my wise past self, and I get up anyhow. Uninspired but willing, I'll start before the feeling. Uninspired But a willing flow finds me once I begin. Walking with my dog, a good light, then it's gone. I save it in my phone for a day I don't have one. Uninspired but willing, I'll start before the feeling. Uninspired but willing. Flow finds me once I begin. I don't wait for the muse, I show up and I stay. She's learned to be on time, 'cause I expect her there each day. Uninspired but willing.
"Be of good cheer. Think not of today's failures, but of tomorrow's successes...”
