Circumcision Ch 6 I Know My Father by Neville Goddard

Neville Goddard explores circumcision as a metaphor for spiritual awakening and self-awareness, drawing on biblical references to examine inner consciousness and the nature of being.
Neville Goddard. I know my father. Chapter six. Circumcision. Circumcision is the operation which removes the veil that hides the head of creation. The physical act has nothing to do with the spiritual act. The whole world could be physically circumcised and yet remain uncleaned and blind. Leaders of the blind, the spiritually circumcised, have had the veil of darkness removed and know themselves to be Christ, the light of the world. That's the spiritually circumcised. Let me now perform the spiritual operation on you, the reader. This act performed on the eighth day after birth. 8. Because 8 is the figure that has neither beginning nor ending. Furthermore, the ancients symbolize the eighth numeral as an enclosure or veil within and behind which lay buried the mystery of creation. Thus, the secret of the operation on the eighth day is in keeping with the nature of the act, which act is to reveal the eternal head of creation, that changeless something in which all things begin and end and remains its eternal self. When all things cease to to be, this mysterious something in your awareness. Excuse me, this mysterious something is your awareness of being. Your awareness of being is here. When you go into the closet, you shut the door and you do your I am meditation. You are becoming aware in that moment of the awareness of being. Your awareness of being is right when you first wake up. Let there be light. That light is coming through at the speed of light. And then your self concept overlays. And then you become aware of this, the awareness of being. Remember now the number eight. Let me just put that up there. It has no beginning or end because it just. It continuously goes around and around and around. It's also the symbol for infinity. It's also known as the word lemniscate, that changeless something in which all things begin and end and remains its eternal self. When all things cease to be this mysterious something is your awareness of being. It's always right here. It's never outside of you. It's not in the world. Don't go looking for it there, because it's not. You're not going to find it there at this moment. You are aware of being right now, but you are aware of being someone. Remember your awareness of beings first. Then the awareness of being someone comes right instantly, right after that. When you first wake up from any sleep, nap, deep slumber, this sleep you call this waking dream. This someone is the veil that hides the being that you really are. You are first conscious of being. Then you are conscious of being man. After the veil of man is placed upon your faceless self. You become conscious of being a member of a certain race, nation, family, creed, etc. The veil to be lifted is spiritual circumcision. The veil to be lifted in spiritual circumcision is the veil of man. But before this can be done, you must cut away the adhesions of race, nation, family, and so on. This is what I told you in a couple of videos ago when I. When I just lost the concept of division. It just leaves you after a certain period of study in Neville. For me, maybe it was a year. I want to say it was a little over a year. I just. The whole concept of division left me. Literally just left. You could see everyone as your brother or your sister. That's exactly what happened. The whole concept of race, creed, color, family, all that religion, everything, everyone instantly within me became my family. There's no other way to put it in and behind a steering wheel in a car, it's easy to detach and become impersonal and see your brothers and sisters who might cut you off or whatever. They all have different pressures in their life. They all are driving that way for a reason. A lot of them are not living in there now at all. They're living in this future they're trying to get to. So if they're going to cut you off, they're still your brother or your sister. They just have the different kind of use of the pressure that they've created for themselves. So if you're driving and they're cutting you off, hey, you're not in their way anymore. They can go ahead and speed on down the road. It doesn't matter to you. They're not in your way. You're not in their way anymore. Nor are they in yours because they zoom off. But they still are. Your brother and your sister, no matter what. All, every. Every single human, every single creature, all of this everything is you. Pushed out is your family, for lack of a better word. That's the ultimate word. You must cut away the adhesions of race, family, nation, and so on. In Christ there is neither Greek nor Jew, bond nor free, male nor female. You must leave father, mother, brother and follow me. To accomplish this, you must stop identifying yourself with these divisions by becoming indifferent to such claims and period. Indifference is the knife that severs. Feeling is the tie that binds. When you can look upon man as one grand brotherhood without distinction of race, creed or color, then you will know that you have severed these adhesions with these ties. Cut all that now separates you from your True being. Your belief that you are man. Ooh, wow. Listen to that. With these ties cut, all that now separates you from your true being is your belief that you are man. I and my father are one. My Father is greater than I. To remove this last veil, you must drop your conception of yourself as man by knowing yourself. Just to be. Where is it easiest to hear that? When you close off the senses, you do some deep breaths, go into your I am. Relax, chill it. Chill it out. Calm it down. Breathing some I am. This is where you do this. You're already there. You're that fast. You're already there. Just to be I am is just to be. When you feel I am, it equals just be. Just being. You don't. When you're there, there is no here, male or female, that doesn't play any part anymore. You're just in am, I am. That's all you are. When you close the door to your closet, shut the door, go into your I am meditation. All you are is. I am. I am is all that is God. Instead of the consciousness of I am man, let there just be I am faceless formless awareness. I am faceless formless awareness. I am faceless, formless awareness. Then unveiled and awake, you will declare and know that I am is God. And beside me this awareness there is no God. And besides me this awareness, there is no God. Because you are the awareness at this moment. This mystery is told in the Bible story of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. It is recorded that Jesus laid aside his garments and took a towel and girded himself. Then after washing his disciples feet, he wiped them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Peter protested and was told that unless his feet were washed he would have no part. He would have no part of Jesus. Peter replied, lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and head. Jesus answered and said, he that is washed needeth not save to wash feet, but is clean every whit. Common sense would tell the reader that a man is not clean all over just because his feet are washed. So he should either discard this story or look for its hidden meaning. Every story of the Bible is a psychological drama taking place in the consciousness of man. And this is no exception. This washing of the disciples feet is the mystical story of spiritual circumcision or the revealing of the secrets of the Lord. Jesus is called the Lord. You are told that the Lord's name is I am Jesus. I am the Lord, that is my name. Isaiah 42:8 Jesus is girded with A towel. Therefore his secrets are hidden. Jesus or Lord symbolizes your awareness of being. Whose secrets are hidden by the towel. The towel being consciousness of man. The foot symbolizes the understanding. Walk ye in his footsteps. Understanding which must be washed by the Lord. Awareness of all human beliefs or conceptions of itself. And as the towel is removed to dry the feet, the secrets of the Lord are revealed. In short, the removing of the belief that you are man reveals your awareness as the head of creation. Man is the foreskin hiding the head of creation. I am the Lord hidden by the veil of man. I am the Lord hidden by the veil of man. This is the veil of man. Your self concept. But you think you are, but you are the Lord. Circumcision is to understand that you are this here, the head of creation. Isn't that a wonderful breakdown? Oh, my gosh. Chapter six, Circumcision. I know my father. What a great book. Very short, very powerful, very amazing chapters here. There's a lot of good pieces in this one. Wow. I first came across this concept, and I'll go ahead and refer to it, that circumcision was in a lecture. I think it's. I think it's the seven eyes of God. I want to say it's that one. Yes. And then he discusses in that lecture the 8th Eye, which is circumcision, which is creativity. It's a different angle coming at it. But Neville was wonderful and amazing at that. He just comes at a similar concept from different roads. All right, what an amazing chapter. We'll see you in the next one.
