Desire Ch 7 The Word Of God, Freedom For All by Neville Goddard

This is a YouTube video titled "Desire Ch 7 The Word Of God, Freedom For All by Neville Goddard" containing a detailed lecture or talk from January 2025. The content is a spiritual and philosophical discourse by Neville Goddard focusing on the power of desire, self-concept, consciousness, and the Golden Rule as fundamental laws of manifestation and personal transformation. It explores how desires shape reality, the importance of aligning desires with self-concept, and the ethical implications of wishing well for others. The talk emphasizes the idea that consciousness is the ultimate reality and that positive intentions return to the sender if not accepted by others.
Neville Goddard Freedom for All Chapter 7 Desire the Word of God. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing where unto I sent it. What a very powerful, powerful quote. God speaks to you through the medium of your basic desires. Your basic desires are words of promise or prophecies that contain within themselves the plan and power of expression. Man, oh man, oh man. Manifestation right here. All that is I am God. Your self concept. A self concept you want to leave behind. A self concept you want to travel into. Here you're not healthy. Here you're healthy. Here you're alone. Here you're in a relationship. Okay? These are your self concepts. Any of them are available to you and I. Any of them. This is all that is. God, I am God speaks to you through the medium of your basic desires. What pours forth from I am constantly like an ever flowing fountain is desire. What? Whatever self concept you occupy is always filled with desire. That desire brings with it the solution to change what your self concepts limitations are. Whatever self concept you occupy, it has limitations. And desire is. What is that urge or that word of God that comes from within you, that is constantly pushing you or making you have the urge to go to the next expression. This is your current expression from desire you impress your current expression. Once you impress this subjective self, then you objectify this new self. But desire is into every single self concept there is. Desire is not going to stop, it's going to continuously flow. There is not a place you're going to be and not experience desire. As long as you can say I am here, you're going to be occupied by desire. And that desire comes from a very special place. By basic desire is meant your real objective. Secondary desires deal with the manner of realization. God, your I Am speaks to you, the conditioned conscious state through your basic desires. God, the I Am speaks to you through your basic desires. Secondary desires or ways of expression are the secrets of your I am the all wise Father. Your Father I Am reveals the first and last. I am the beginning and the end. But never does he reveal the middle or secret of his ways. That is the first is revealed as the Word, your basic desire. The last is its fulfillment, the word made flesh. The second or middle, the plan of unfoldment is never revealed to man, but remains forever the Father's secret. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add Unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life. The words of prophecy spoken of in the book of Revelation are your basic desires, which must be further conditioned. Man is constantly adding and taking from these words, not knowing that the basic desire contains the plan and power of expression. Man is always compromising and complicating his desires. Here is an illustration of what man does to the word of prophecy. His desires. Man desires freedom from his limitations or problem. The first thing he does after he defines his objective is to condition it upon something else. He begins to speculate on the manner of acquiring it. Not knowing that the thing desired has a way of expression all its own, he starts planning how how he is going to get it, thereby adding to the word of God. I am is the word not I will. I will do it this way, I will do it that way. That is limiting the word of God. You're adding to it or you're taking away. If, on the other hand, he has no plan or conception and to its fulfillment of his desire, then he compromises his desire by by modifying it. He feels that if he will be satisfied with less than his basic desire, then he might have a better chance of realizing it. Selling yourself short is what that means. In doing so, he takes from the word of God. Individuals and nations alike are constantly violating this law of their basic desire by plotting and planning the realization of their ambitions. They thereby add to the word of prophecy, or they compromise with their ideals, thus taking the word of taking from the word of God. The inevitable result is death and plagues, or failure and frustration as promised. For such violations, God speaks to man only through the medium of his basic desires. Your desires are determined by your conception of yourself, of themselves. They are neither good nor evil. I know and am persuaded by the Lord Christ Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself but to him that seeth anything to be unclean. To him it is unclean. Your desires are the natural and automatic result of your present conception of yourself. Natural result of the present conception of yourself. Here you are alone, not in a relationship. Here you are together, married, happily in love. Here you are a criminal, a crook. And you want and you rob banks for a living. Here you are robbing more banks for a living. You've successfully pulled off the heist of the century and you have the whole pallet of gold in your clutches. Here you are not healthy. Here you are very healthy. Desire constantly pours forth. Your desires are the natural and automatic result of your present conception of yourself. Natural and automatic. God, your unconditioned consciousness is impersonal and no respecter of persons. Your unconditioned consciousness, God gives to your conditioned consciousness, man, your manifestation through this medium of your basic desires that which your condition state. Your present conception of yourself believes it needs the crook, believes it needs to rob more banks or rob more banks. Here a lone person feels that being in love would be nice. And to be in a relationship be happy that way. That's here. That desire is constantly flowing forth from him, from all that is from I am, from God, into you, into him. God is no respecter of persons. It's always filling the desire that goes with the self concept. The self concept which you have, which you are in charge of. You are in charge of that self concept. As long as you remain in your present conscious state, so long will you continue desiring that which you now desire. Heavy sentence. As long as you remain in your present conscious state, so long will you continue desiring that which you now desire. Oh boy, that's a heck of a sentence. Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the nature of your desires. Change the conception of yourself and you will automatically change the nature of your desires. Here you're alone, single, not happy, not in a relationship. Here you're married. In a new relationship, you're married. You're happy in here, in this new self concept. Now come new desires. What's the new desires? To build a nest. After the nest, what do you want to build? You want to build some new children? Want to build a new career? You want to build another house? You want to build another place. All desire is going to fit the self concept that you travel into continuously. It's going to be ongoing things like a big ferris wheel constantly moving. It's not stopping. Desires are states of consciousness seeking embodiment. Desires are states of consciousness seeking embodiment. They are formed by man's consciousness and can easily be expressed by the man who has conceived them. Listen to that very closely. They are formed by man's consciousness and can easily be expressed by the man who conceived them. You don't have a desire if it's not in you. It's not possible. The self concept here. Let's say we have a crook, a robber, a bank robber, just fun to use. His self concept is full of I am a bank robber. I am a bank robber is what he conceives himself to be the desires that are poured forth into him are to rob that next bank to get that pallet of gold. This is what he is full of, is to fulfill that concept. That concept needs fulfillment. Desires are states of consciousness seeking embodiment. As our robber is seeking embodiment of the successful heist. They are formed by man's consciousness and can be easily expressed by the man who has conceived them. Whatever you conceive. If he's conceiving the heist of the century and he pulls it off, there you go. That is a success right there. In our case over here, if we are in the self concept of being alone or single and we conceive to be in a relationship, happily married, that is another successful attainment that is possible easily be expressed. Desires are expressed when the man who has conceived them assumes the attitude of the mind of mind that would be his if the state's desired were already expressed. Now that's another way of saying you impress your subjective self, your subjective state. You impress yourself what would be yours. If the state was already expressed, you feel it real now. Because desires, regardless of their nature, can be so easily expressed by fixed attitudes of mind. A word of warning must be given to those who have not yet realized the oneness of life and who do not know the fundamental truth that consciousness is God, the one and only reality. Consciousness is God, the one and only reality. The warning was given to man in the famous Golden Rule. Do unto others that which you would have them do unto you. This is the only rule. And this is the main rule. This is Neville's main rule to stick to. And it is very worthy to stick to. Especially when we look at how this works and we break this down over and over and over. Of course we wouldn't have that self concept of being a bank robber. We're using it as a facetious example here. But the concept is he is no respecter of person. So that concept still does exist in this world. There are people that occupy themselves with this. They entertain themselves with this approach to life. So therefore they do get the self concept straight within themselves and get the desire that's befitting and therefore more crime. But for those of us who are waking up to how this works, we want to stick to the golden rule because there's a main reason for that. Because desires, regardless of their nature, can be so easily expressed by fixed attitudes of mind. A word of mourning must be given to those who have not yet realized the oneness of life. The oneness of life. We are all one to those who have not realized that us we've realized that you may desire something for yourself or you may desire for another. If your desire concerns another, make sure that the thing desired is acceptable to that other. The reason for this warning is that your consciousness is God, the giver of all gifts. Very, very important chapter here. Do not turn away. There's a reason we're here. It's very, very good stuff we're getting into right here. The reason for this warning is that your consciousness is God, the giver of all gifts. Therefore, that which you feel and believe to be true of another is a gift you have given to him. The gift that is not accepted returns to the giver. Be very sure that what then? That what? Excuse me? Be very sure then that you would love to possess the gift yourself. For if you fix a belief within yourself as true of another, and he does not accept this state as true of himself, this unaccepted gift will embody itself within your world. Very, very important point. If you are here and you know your friend here is. Is without a job and wants to have a job, he has told you he wants to have this certain job. Then you imagine lovingly for that friend. You impress yourself. You impress your consciousness that he has called you and you hear him on the phone telling you, oh man, I got this new job and I'm totally stoked on it. I start on Monday. You impress your subconscious. This is a successful manifestation. Because what happens is you become this new objective self that has in a coreality where with his new objective reality, you have sacrificed the self you were by persuading yourself to what he wants to be. Now, another example, you have another friend who you think should. Should do this with his life, his or her life. You over here impress yourself that that person needs to do this. Well, you don't even know what this person wants. You haven't actually talked to them. But you take it upon yourself to impress your consciousness with this other person becoming this. Well, we are all him. That impression goes back to him. And over here, he actually doesn't want that. He or she doesn't want that. What you sent their way, what happens to that energy? You sent it literally. If it can't go here, it can only come right back from whence it came. This is why you want to be very careful. The golden rule is so important that this works. Meaning you give the blessing to the friend who wants this certain job. You sacrifice this self to become this self who sees that other person and hears them on the phone. Telling you that he left his unemployed status and now is employed happily. So you both have literally sacrificed these selves and become these two new selves. A successful imagining loving me. This is very successful. On the other hand, if you do it to someone and you're shooting on them, you shouldn't shit on people. Not nice, not the Golden Rule. And they don't want what you send their way. It is not going to manifest. Not only is it not going to manifest, it's going to come right back to you. Literally come right back to you. This is why it's so important, what he said in the first paragraph. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing where unto I sent it. If you wish ill upon another, and they don't accept that ill, it's coming right back from whence it came to its creator. The Golden Rule is very, very, very important. Now, if you know this person wants a certain thing, wants a relationship, for example, then you imagine lovingly for them to have that successful relationship. You sacrifice, you persuade yourself. Here they pick up on that energy and persuade this subjective self also. Because their objective self is all of a sudden in a relationship. And the self that you sacrifice, you become that new person. And these are in harmony. If this person wants to be single and doesn't want to be in a relationship, and you sit there and imagine lovingly for them to be in a relationship, this is a very decent example. And they refuse that energy, it's coming right back to you. That could be a positive reflection. So that's why only do unto others that which you would want done unto you is important. Because what bounces back is what you send. It doesn't just leave you and go nowhere. It comes back and you have it in your 3D reality, period. Very, very, very important point in all of this. And Neville made it, made it a point in many of his lectures and right now, first time, his third book. Very, very important, the Golden Rule. Let's keep going. I'm going to backtrack a tiny bit. Be very sure that what then? That you would love to possess the gift yourself. For if you fix the belief within yourself as true of another, and he does not accept this state as true of himself, this unaccepted gift will embody itself within your world. Always hear and accept as true of others that which you would desire for yourself. Happy and in love. I believe my friend is happy and in love. I believe my other friend is happily employed. I believe my other friend is happy in health. These are actually very positive gifts because if they don't accept them, they come right back to you. It's like setting the dinner table with very delicious food that you love because you're okay eating any of it. Always hear and accept as true of others that which you would desire for yourself. In so doing, you are building heaven on earth. It just reminded me that previous sentence. What is the. The. The Christmas tradition? I think it's the white elephant gift. You buy a gift and I've watched my niece and nephew do this successfully each year for many years. They buy something that they. Everybody does it the same. Everybody's doing it the same. But I always watch them somehow end up with their g. It succeeds that nobody wants what they want for themselves. They buy a gift that they actually want. The gift trading goes on. You pick a number, you choose your gift. Someone can steal that from you sooner or later. I've watched one of my. I watched a niece actually get the gift she bought for herself. Almost 80% success rate. She does this, which is exactly what we're talking about. You want to give what you want to get. You don't want to go swipe it back. This is just funny. This is a fun story, but the whole idea is you want to give which you are okay with receiving. When you imagine lovingly of another, you want to give the gift that you would be happy to receive. Always hear and accept as true of others that which you would desire for yourself. In so doing, you are building heaven on earth. A rising tide floats all boats. My friend is healthy. My friend is happily married. My other friend is happily employed. You're rising the tide. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you is based upon this law. Remember little more important point that I mentioned a couple books ago on the playlist, but I'll mention it again. I was watching a movie recently and it fits to throw in here. This one character was dying in the movie and the other, and he was the character that was doing the dying in the movie was talking to another character and that other character was concerned about whether they could do something. And that dying character said in his last words, don't worry, God doesn't care where you were. God only cares where you are. And I just thought that was so profound. This whole body of work we're discussing over and over in the law. Only it. It only matters when you start applying it. It doesn't matter that you didn't apply it in third grade. It doesn't matter that you didn't apply it in 9th or 12th grade or college. It doesn't. It doesn't matter that you didn't apply this in your 20s, in your 30s, in your 40s, 50s, 60, 70, 80s, 90s, 100. Lucky you. It doesn't matter that you haven't applied it at any other time. The important thing, time is now. The important time is now. When you learn this law, you're doing massive service, not just to yourself, but to all yourselves. We're all brothers and sisters. You're doing a massive service when you learn this law and you imagine leveling for another person with the golden rule in mind. And of course you ask them, what do they want? It works. It works. It works. It only matters that you start applying it right now. Get with it. If you're watching this, you're learning this. And if you're learning this, you now know. And you can't avoid that. You know, now you have to apply it. You have to imagine lovingly for others as you would for yourself. See it work. Once you see it work out there, you're like, whoa, that definitely works. So what do I want to imagine for myself? Only accept such states as true of others that you would willingly accept as true of yourself that you may constantly create heaven on earth. Your heaven is defined by the state of consciousness in which you live, which state is made up of all that you accept as true of yourself and true of others. Everyone is good, everyone is blessed, everyone is beautiful, everyone is magical. Your immediate environment is defined by your own conception of yourself, plus your conviction regarding others which have not been accepted by them. Remember, if it wasn't accepted by them, if they didn't accept that blessing, that blessings coming back here. And what you want to be full of is blessings you don't want to be full of. This person should do that. That person should do that. And that person should do that because I think they should. No, uh, that's not going to cut it. Because then you're going to be stacked up high with all of that crap with everybody shooting on you. You don't want that. So you don't go, shouldn't on others. They have another word for that. S H I T. You know of it. You shouldn't do that on others. No shoulding. Shoulding not allowed. You only send that which you believe is going to be in line with the harmony of what they are wishfully desiring for themselves. I want to be married. I Want to be employed. I want to be healthy. I want to be happy. I want to be free. You are sending out those imaginings to those other persons that you know that are fitting with what they are after. Because you've talked to them, that you've heard them say it. You don't just send because they should. Because remember anything that's not. That's not. What's the old saying? I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks on you. It's very, very true. Very true. After you study this, you're like. You're like man. As kids we had so much wisdom. That is so true. So your life will be filled with anything not received. Golden Rule. Your immediate environment is defined by your own conception of yourself plus your convictions regarding others which have not been accepted by them. You'll be happy you were sticking to the golden rule when that stuff comes back at you. Your conception of another, which is not his conception of himself, is a gift returned to you. Suggestions like propaganda are boomerangs unless they are accepted by those to whom they are sent. So your world is a gift you have given to yourself. The nature of the gift is determined by your conception of yourself plus the unaccepted gifts you offered others. Make no mistake about this. Law is no respecter of persons. This is the law. Discover the law of self expression and live by it. Then you will be. Guess what? The word's going to be free with this understanding of the law. Define your desire. Know exactly what you want. Make certain that it is desirable and acceptable. The wise and disciplined man sees no barrier to the realization of his desire. He sees nothing to destroy. With a fixed attitude of mind, he recognizes that the thing desired is already fully expressed. For he knows that a fixed subjective state has ways and means of expressing itself which no man knows. Before they ask, I have answered. I have always. Excuse me. I have ways ye know not of. My ways are past finding out. The disciplined man, on the other hand, constantly sees opposition to the fulfillment of his desire. And because of this frustration, he forms desires of destruction which he firmly believes must be expressed before his basic desire can be realized. Oh, boy. Excuse me. That was meant to say the undisciplined man. I think I read it wrong. Let me repeat the sentence. Let me repeat this part of the paragraph because I don't want it to go awry. The wise and disciplined man sees no barrier to the realization of his desire. He has nothing to destroy. That's the wise and disciplined man with A fixed attitude of man of mind. He recognizes that the thing desired is already fully expressed. For he knows that a fixed subjective state has ways and means of expressing itself of which no man knows before. They ask, I have answered, I have ways you know not of. My ways are past finding out. The undisciplined man, on the other hand, constantly sees opposition to the fulfillment of his desire. And because of this frustration, he forms desires of destruction which he firmly believes must be expressed before his basic desire can be realized. When man discovers this law of one consciousness, this one, he will understand the great wisdom of the Golden Rule, and so he will live by it and prove to himself that the kingdom of heaven is on earth. Wow. When man discovers this law of one Consciousness, he will understand the great wisdom of the Golden Rule. And so he will live by it and prove to himself, and I'm sorry, prove to himself that the kingdom of heaven is on earth. You will realize why. You will realize why you should, quote, do unto others that which you would have them do unto you. End quote. You will know why you should live by this golden Rule because you have. Because you will discover that it is just as common sense to do so, since the rule is based upon life's changeless law and is no respecter of persons. Consciousness is the one and only reality. The world and all within it are states of consciousness objectified. Your world is defined by your conception of yourself plus your conception of others which are not their conception of themselves. Let me repeat that. Consciousness is the one and only reality. The world and all within it are states of consciousness objectified. The world and all within it are states of consciousness objectified. Your world is defined by your conception of yourself plus your conception of others which are not their conceptions of themselves. So you have stacked here that what makes up your world is your conception of yourself plus a large stack of what you think of everybody else. Whoa. Are you ready for that one? Remember, so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and shall prosper in the thing where unto I sent it. It shall prosper in the thing where I sent it. Means it is either accepted or it's not. And if it's not, which most like most of the time sometimes, let's just say if it isn't, it's coming right back to you. So you have your self concept and you have a nice little stack of all those conceptions you have of others. Boy, oh boy, the Golden Rule Means something, doesn't it? Redefines everything Consciousness is. I'm going to repeat it again. It deserves it. Consciousness is the one and only reality, the world and all within it are states of consciousness objectified. Your world is defined by your conception of yourself plus your conception of others, which are not their conceptions of themselves because they didn't receive what you sent them. And it comes back to you. The story of the Passover is to help you turn your back on the limitations of the present and pass over into a better and freer state. The suggestion to follow the man with the pitcher of water was given to the disciples to guide them to the Last Supper or the feast of the Passover. The man with the pitcher of water is the 11th disciple, Simon of Canaan. The disciplined quality of mind which bears, excuse me, which hears only dignified, noble and kindly states. The mind that is disciplined to hear only the good, feasts upon the good states and so embodies the good on earth. If you too would attend the Last Supper, the great feast of the Passover, then follow this man. Assume this attitude of mine, symbolized as the man with the pitcher of water, and you will live in a world that is really heaven on earth. The feast of the Passover is the secret of changing your consciousness. You turn your attention from your present conception of yourself and assume the consciousness of being that which you want to be, thereby passing from one state to another. This feat is accomplished with the help of the 12 disciples which are the 12 disciplined qualities of mind. Oh, my goodness, what a wonderful chapter. Desire the word of God. I'm going to repeat that opening quote one last time. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it. And if that prospering means it comes back to you, and what you sent wasn't so positive because you think this person should do that, or you think this person should do that, or this person should do that, and they don't accept it. You got that stack right there with you. It's your bosom buddy. You got not only the limitations and challenges of your current concept, and when you try and impress that concept to be something else, you've also got, well, guess what else to deal with. Guess what else you're blind to right here? That which you sent out of your mouth, that came back prospering and giving to you that which you sent. But you must be very, very Careful of that which you send. You must be blessing consistently to your brothers and sisters only. Positive, positive, positive. The word of God is what you're using. It has power. It will arrive somewhere. And as we're discussing right now, it's going to arrive at you if you're not careful. But you want it to be the golden rule. So that way, when the rule comes back to you, if they don't want it, it's just gold that shows up. My friend is prosperous. He has a new job and new opportunities. He's always making new, higher, double amounts of money, working half as much, half as hard. My other friend is twice as healthy, never goes to the hospital anymore. He's always happy because he's running. Now he's in triathlon. My other friend not only is married, but she moved into a new house with her new husband. And now they're having children and they couldn't be happier. Those are blessings, those are gold that you send. When you have that kind of concept of others and they don't want it, you're okay with it. You're okay with it. You only want to send what you would send to yourself and that you'd be happy to receive. When you imagine lovingly, that's what you're doing. That's why it's called lovingly. Imagine lovingly. If you're going to persuade yourself to be that new self, convinced of that new embodiment of another, then you want to do that because you would be happy with that self. Because you're going to sacrifice the self that believed the old. You're going to sacrifice the self that believed that person was there in the first place. And when you become the new person that believes this person is on a higher status, happily in a relationship, happily in love, happily married, then you're giving up the self that believed that they weren't before. So now, then you become a new self, and they become a new self. Because you both agree on this. They want it, you send it. It's received. Basically, it's received by all of us. We receive it too, because we become the new self that believes the new them. So we embody it, they embody it. But if they don't want it, then what is it so bad that you give to yourself? Happiness. You said they're now happy being married, they're now happy being in love. If they don't want that, they're not ready for it. Whatever the reason is, you've only sent the positive blessing that you're okay with receiving happiness. In love, in your happy marriage. This is how it works. All right. Wow. That was chapter seven. Freedom for all. We'll see you in the next chapter.
