Neville Goddard Power of awareness righteousness chapter 20 in the preceding chapter, righteousness was defined as the consciousness of already being what you want to be. This is the true psychological meaning and obviously does not refer to adherence to moral codes, civil law or religious precepts. You cannot attach too much importance to being righteous. In fact, the entire Bible is permeated with admonition and exhortations on this subject. Break off thy sins by righteousness. Daniel 4:27 My righteousness I hold fast and will not let it go. My heart shall not reproach me so long as I live. Job 27:6 My righteousness shall answer for me in time to come. Genesis 30:33 Very often the the words sin and righteousness are used in the same quotation. This is a logical contrast of opposites and becomes enormously significant in the light of the psychological meaning of righteousness and the psychological meaning of sin. Remember, we're talking about psychological meaning. There is no literal sin means to miss the mark, not to attain your desire not to be the person you want to be is sinning. Righteousness is the consciousness of already being what you want to be. It is a changeless educative law that effects must follow causes. Only by righteousness can you be saved from sinning. Where are we in all of this mess? Lovely hot mess. All right. I am all that is God right here. Just showed up instantly. This is your self concept. This is a self concept, another future self concept. One over here, one over there, your sister, your brother, your mother, father, cousin, your future, your past, etc etc etc. All of these are self concepts. Here you are today and here you want to be in your new today you're new, now you're tomorrow. I know we can't define that. There's no time without changing our vocabulary which is what we're on the subject of right here. Vocabulary. In Neville's terms, what does it mean sin is and what does it mean righteousness is if you have the desire in you to become happily married and in love in a wonderful relationship and you are not there, but inside of you is the desire for that and you in a forward momentum make an impression into your subconscious and then manifest that into your reality. However much time that takes, however much work that takes, however much feeling that takes, whatever it takes, if you want that it will become. But that's if you push forth. Now let's say you ignore that desire that's boiling within you. That's called sin. That's called missing the mark. You're not following your inner desire Your inner desire comes from him, comes from within you, is fueled with an urge. And that urge is to be fulfilled, to be fulfilled through you. But you are the one that unlocks the path. The path being an impression into your subconscious. While you fall asleep, you feel what it's like to be married. That's impressing your subconscious. That impression pushes forth the objectivity of the subjective impression, objective expression. Impression, expression. This is righteousness. That simple. If you don't follow your desire and push an impression here and you let the world put its impression on you with all of its sales gimmicks and tactics and things, if you let those things take your space and you back off of this, pretending like you don't know that this exists. If you've gone this far, you know it exists. Now that you know it exists, you can't ignore it. And if you do, that's called sinning. That's called missing the mark. That's called missing you. Missing what you've come here to do, to follow your desires. Your whole life is based on one desire after another. That fountain is not going to shut off. The fountain that desire is coming from is not stopping. It's never if it stops. You stop because there's no purpose. If that was to stop giving desire out, there'd be no purpose for you or I. But since it's not going to stop since we came from it, we have to feed into the desires that come up within us. It doesn't matter what your self concept is. Are you a teacher? Are you someone longing for a loving relationship? Are you a banker, a thousandaire? You want to be a millionaire and you become a millionaire banker. Then you become a trillionaire banker, Then you become a billionaire. It doesn't matter. Are you not healthy and you want to be healthy. Each of these desires come from within. And your physical aspects are your self concept. Your self concept is what gives you the physical things you're looking at and the physical things you're looking at. When you see yourself, desire from within is what gives you the urge to go and fulfill and objectify. New you new. That is righteousness. That's the opposite of ignoring. Sinning is ignoring. That's all it is. Missing the mark. Sin means to miss the mark. Not to attain your desire, not to be the person you want to be is sinning. Righteousness is the consciousness of already being what you want to be. It is changeless educative law that effects must follow causes. Only by righteousness can you be saved from sinning. There is a widespread misunderstanding as to what it means to be saved from sin. The following example will suffice to demonstrate this misunderstanding and to establish the truth. A person living in abject poverty may believe that by means of some religious or philosophical activity, he can be saved from sin and his life improved as a result. If, however, he continues to live in the same state of poverty, it is obvious that what he believed was not the truth, and in fact he was not saved. On the other hand, he can be saved by righteousness. The successful use of the Law of Assumption the successful use of the Law of Assumption would have the inevitable result of an actual change in his life. He would no longer live in poverty. He would no longer miss the mark. He would be saved from sin. Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees. Ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20 Scribes and Pharisees mean those who are influenced and governed by the outer appearances, the rules and customs of the society in which they live. The vain desire to be thought well by other men. Unless this state of mind is exceeded, your life will be one of limitation, of failure, of failure to attain your desires, of missing the mark of sin. This righteousness is exceeded by true righteousness, which is always the consciousness of already being that which you want to be, already being that which you want to be. If you get it, if you get the desire, that means it exists. They can only exist at one and the same instantaneous moment, which is all there is. That's how you record. That's how time is. It's one instantaneous, simultaneous and spontaneous moment. In that one spontaneous simultaneous instantaneous moment, desire and objective reality of that desire both exist. They are seeking fulfillment. The Law of Assumption is how this one fulfills into this one. The Law of Assumption is the path. It would behoove you, me, everybody to learn the Law of Assumption because in that way you can become any self concept. All his works are done. Any self concept's yours. One of the greatest pitfalls in attempting to use the Law of Assumption is focusing your attention on things. Is having your sp back a theme a thing? Is having has having a new car back a thing or new car a thing? One of the greatest pitfalls in attempting to use the Law of Assumption is focusing your attention on things. On a new home, a better job, a bigger bank balance. This is not the righteousness righteousness without which you die in your sins. Righteousness is not the thing, Nukar, a thing one of itself. It is the it is the consciousness, the feeling of already being the person you want to be, of already having the thing you desire. Remember the path here. You have desire within you. You want to be married, not single, you want to have a family, etc. And you're not that way here. You want to be that way. So desire is within you. You make the impression into your subconscious by feeling it real as you fall asleep, by feeling yourself with the wedding ring on your mental finger. A mental ring on your mental finger. Not go get a ring and put it on there. It's feeling it real in your imagining, in your imagining. You put it on that slowly, that fourth dimensional image you finally become by feeling becomes its. That's using the law of assumption. That is the law of assumption. You're assuming it to be real. It's a law of assumption. It's not a partial assumption. It's not called law of assumption. I mean, it's not called partial assumption. It's not called kind of sorta assumption. It's not called I did it last night but nothing's showing up assumption. It's not called I've done this for six months and nothing's happening assumption. It's called the law of assumption. It works. It's a law. It's a law that when you assume it to be real with feeling, it objectifies. It's an actual law that happens. Righteousness is the path we're talking about. It isn't that. The relationship is righteousness. It isn't the new car, it isn't the new house, it isn't the new spouse. It's the path you took to get there. That's righteousness. The home, the car, the spouse, bank account, things are all okay. They're not what matters. It's how you got there that's righteousness. We're breaking down the path and understanding in oh so many ways about the law of assumption for a very, very important reason. It is up to us to get this. Once you get this, it's all available, whatever you want. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33. The kingdom, that's the entirety of creation, all right? That's in parentheses. The kingdom of God. God is your I am. God is your I am. All right, without parentheses. The kingdom of God is within you. Righteousness is the awareness that you already possess it all. Righteousness is the awareness of how this law of assumption works. Righteousness is the awareness that you already possess it all. Because once you know how to do this. What is it you don't possess? You possess the keys. Literally, the keys to the entire kingdom. It would matter not what kind of health you wanted. It would matter not what kind of love and relationship you wanted. It would matter not what kind of bank balance you wanted if you knew Righteousness, the path to getting it done, doesn't matter what you put in the blank. Freedom. Not have to pound stakes on the railroad all day. Does it matter? Righteousness is the skill set we're breaking down, we're putting to use, and we're making sure that sooner or later, we get that feeling on anything. It doesn't matter if it's the pizza or if it's the parking space. I always say, start. Start what you can manage and doesn't have any emotional impact at first. The climbing the ladder. These are nice, simple, banal things that just show you. Hey. Whoa. That really just happened. Not joking right here. I just got a text, and my wife got a very happy text message, and she communicated to me, so I communicated back to her. Congratulations. And then it showed up on her phone with the confetti and a popping firework sound. And what I did earlier this morning was she was hoping for this communication to come through. So after she texted that to me, my wife got a very happy text message and she communicated to me, so I communicated back to her. Congratulations. I was doing. Doing some work on editing, and then I just stopped what I was doing and I went into an imagining. I took the path of righteousness over the objective she had. I imagined her walking in the front door with the communication that she got the got the information, got the call she was expecting, and she was very happy about it. And I said, high five. I actually high fivedirected Congratulations. I high fived her. I. I hugged her and I said, congratulations. I'm glad to hear that. I'm so happy for you. All that was in one instantaneous prayer moment. Okay, two and a half, three hours, maybe two hours. I got the text shortly ago that she got that communication. I sent back the text, and then it showed up on her phone with the confetti and a popping firework sound. And what I did earlier this morning was she was hoping for this communication to come through. So after she texted that to me.
