You Shall Decree Ch 2 Your Faith Is Your Fortune by Neville Goddard

A lecture on chapter two of Neville Goddard's Your Faith Is Your Fortune, exploring how consciousness and imagination shape reality. The speaker examines Goddard's teachings on self-concept and manifestation through biblical interpretation and psychological analysis.
Faith is your fortune. Neville Goddard. Chapter two. Let's see here. Boy, oh boy. You shall decree. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11. Carrying on from what we described that we're all from the same being, or they're all from the same source. If the word my word goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void. That means it has power. It has a lot of power, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. And this works. The word prosper means it, it becomes, when your word goes forth, it becomes what you send it in motion to be. It doesn't matter if that's positive or negative, good or bad, light or dark, it doesn't matter. And the best thing I can say that I've got from Neville is that you want to stay within the golden rule when it comes to your word or your thoughts. I mean, just breaking down that chapter, that verse of scripture right there is just a wonderful piece. Isaiah 55:11, okay, you shall decree chapter two, Neville. Man can decree a thing, and it will come to pass. Man has always decreed that which has appeared in his world. He is today decreeing that which is appearing in his world. And he shall continue to do so as long as man is conscious of being man. It's funny, in other pieces of Neville, he's talking about your consciousness. And where is it that you remember you're you? I mean, you always have an. You can forget who you are, you can forget where you are, but you'll never forget that you are. That's not something you forget. So even when in that moment when you're waking up, you know I am. That's where your I am is already I am. It doesn't have to wake up and realize it's the current version of you. The, the current self concept of yourself is what seems to flood in after you wake up. But when you wake up, that moment, right when you wake up, your I am is already lit up. It's waiting for you to kind of load in whatever you want behind that I am. That's why the SATs method and doing it in the evening before you fall asleep or when you wake up is so important because you have that little window where the I am, which is what we went over in the first chapter, is the basically static and waiting for your orders. And when you decree a thing and it comes to pass, it's because you set that in motion by what you expect. What you're putting into your imagination when you wake up and when you fall asleep is going into that and following suit of the phrase I am. And you're becoming that. So I'm going to break this down as much as I can as we go because it's Neville material is such a wonderful body of work and I just want to share the best understanding we can glean from it. And it takes breaking it down in commentary as we go. That's just the way it is. So we'll consider this a book club. Basically. Nothing has ever happened in man's world. Excuse me, Nothing has ever appeared in man's world but what man decreed that it should. This you may deny. But try as you will, you cannot disprove it. For this decreeing is based upon a changeless principle. Man does not command things to appear by his words which are more often than not a confession of his doubts and fears. That's unfortunate. And doubt getting into the Neville vocabulary, doubt is a word that equals the devil. So you could want to look for evil or, or, or the devil. And the word doubt is what's at the other end of that. If you want to get the equal sign on both sides of this equation, evil equals doubt. When you have any kind of doubt, that is what is considered evil in the terms of the way Neville breaks down scripture and, and the vocabulary that he approaches the understanding of scripture. So listen to what he says there about doubt. Again, this is Neville's writing. Man does not command things to appear by his words which are more often than not unfortunately a confession of his doubts and fears. Decreeing is ever done in consciousness. Every man automatically expresses that which he is conscious of being without effort or the use of words at every moment of time. Man is commanding himself to be and to possess that which he is conscious of being and possessing. This changeless principle of expression is dramatized in all the Bibles of the world. The writers of our sacred books were illumined mystics, past masters in the art of psychology in telling the story of the soul. They personified this impersonal principle in the form of a historical document both to preserve it and to hide it from the eyes of the uninitiated. I tell you, the Neville material is not, it's not something that you're going to watch this video on. If you just are looking at this with a very glancing blow. This is very. I don't think you have to be advanced to understand it. You have to have the desire and the enthusiasm to understand it. And once it speaks to you you can't really avoid wanting more of it. It's really a trip like that. You're just going to want more of it. And that has to do with the Law and the Promise. When you are engaging with the Law and learning how you're making your world better that's a very, very good use of the Neville material because you're learning how to use the Law. And then there's the other side which is the promise which is going to come to each one of us eventually. And there's that whole approach which you get into understanding the Neville material and you understand how to exercise the Law and then you also unveil the promise either and both do happen but you're always going to end up at the Promise. So that's going to be a thing that just happens. Whether in this life or the next, it doesn't. It doesn't matter. Today those to whom this great treasure has been entrusted, namely the priesthoods of the world have forgotten that the Bibles are psychological dramas representing the consciousness of man. In their blind forgetfulness they now teach their followers to worship. To worship its characters as men and women who actually lived in space and time. This is very, very funny because that is so true. My goodness. Today those to whom this great treasure has been entrusted, namely the priesthoods of the world have forgotten that the Bibles are psychological dramas representing the consciousness of man. In their blind forgetfulness they now teach their followers to worship its characters as men and women who actually lived in time and space. And that's the issue with Churchianity as Neville calls it. Everybody is so literal minded and they're not looking at this psychological drama that really these illumed mystics, past masters in the art of psychology, what they were hiding in plain sight was the story that inside of that story is the truth of how we work. And if you. And if they were illumed mystics and masters in the art of psychology then when this book was written they were basically handing us an instruction manual on how this works. And the best examples of people who've used it to its to a great degree would be like people like Lucille Ball. There's so much to get into there. She was such a great user of the law, she understood it. She went to Neville Goddard's meetings. There's other information we'll bring up later and provide so you can look at yourself when it comes to Lucille Ball. But she used the law very well. I just wanted to point that out. And learning from Neville what she did, she went to his meetings. She was able to not just learn it within herself, but also then be at a meeting where questions were asked of Neville that you could also learn more from and get an in depth understanding and then go apply it and then come back and then ask a question and get more information. I mean, what a wonderful thing. But you can see by the example of Desilu Studios etc and I Love Lucy show and a lot of other things how wonderful that the law was used by her in her life. Okay, continuing. When man sees the Bible as a great psychological drama, with all of its characters and actors as the personified qualities and attributes of his own consciousness, then and then only will the Bible revealed to him the light of its symbology. Boy, oh boy, it's so true. It is a psychological drama. This impersonal principle of life which made all things is personified as God. Test, test, test, making sure we're on. This impersonal principle of life which made all things is personified as God. This Lord God, creator of heaven and earth, is discovered to be man's awareness of being. If man were less bound by orthodoxy and more intuitively observant, he could not fail to notice in the readings of the Bibles that the awareness of being is revealed hundreds of times throughout the literature. That's very amazing right there. If man were less bound by orthodoxy and more intuitively observant, he could not fail to notice in the reading of the Bible's that the awareness of being is revealed hundreds of times throughout this literature, to name a few. I am have sent me unto you. Be still and know that I am God. One of the greatest examples. I am the Lord and there is no God. I am the shepherd, I am the door. I am the resurrection and the life. I am the way. I am the beginning and the end. I am. Man's unconditioned awareness of Being is revealed as Lord and Creator of every conditioned state of being. If man would give up his belief in a God apart from himself, recognize his awareness of being to be God. This awareness fashions itself in the likeness and image of its conception of itself. He would re. He would transform his world from a barren waste to a fertile field of his own liking. Remember, if man would give up his belief in a God apart from himself, recognize his awareness of being to be God. Awareness of being. Remember, when you wake up in the morning, you are really coming from that plug in, from your awareness of being. You first are aware of being before you're aware of being who you think you are. First your I am. Your awareness of being. I am is first. First on the scene, actually before the scene, before your awareness. When you're coming out of that dream state and you're coming into your awake state, your awareness of being is what we're talking about, which is the first part. Then you remind yourself who you're aware of being as a role. But if you give up your belief in a God apart from yourself out there, recognize your awareness of being to be God. That awareness inside of you, which means your imagination, your own wonderful human imagination, which Neville says about a billion times, that is where God dwells, is as your imagination, not just in your imagination, but as your imagination. The day man does. The day, excuse me, the day man does this, he will know that he and his father are one, but his father is greater than he. He will know that his consciousness of being is one with that which he is conscious of being, but that his unconditioned consciousness of being is greater than his conditioned state or his conception of himself. The day man does this. When man discovers his consciousness to be the impersonal power of expression, which power eternally personifies itself in his conceptions of himself. He. He will assume and appropriate the state of consciousness which he desires to express. That means whatever you want to be, you want to become. In so doing he will become that state in expression. Remember my example. And again we are one example of, of the concept all that is God, Christ, Buddha, divinity. These are just, we don't want to get caught and stuck in like the name here. But that's all it is. That's God. That's whatever you want to call it. Now your self concept today has you doing this thing and when you wake up in the morning, you remember that that's your first thing that you put into your mind of I am this. Okay, so you start and you want to be, let's say married and have a wonderful life loving relationship. When you are dreaming about that, when you're thinking about that before you fall asleep and when you wake up in the morning, I am a happy loving wife. I am a happy loving husband. And you're imagining the ring on your finger while you sleep. Then basically you have this shadow self that you are forming. This actually is not the shadow, your shadow self is your waking self. This is where the shadow is. But the movement happens. What you feel is not structured yet because if you are, let's say you're single in this self concept and you want to be in a relationship. Then you're starting to focus on this as you fall asleep. And as you wake up, then this self is where the actual reality exists. It's not here. This is only a shadow. The actual reality is in the new concept of self. So as you make the movement happen in your loving, happily married self, creation of being a thing, as it becomes a thing and it begins to wake up, it's only waking up in the shadow world, which is the world of 3D. The reality is in your subconscious state as you're falling asleep and you're bringing that into being. The shadow world is the 3D world. That's where this, this reality is casting a shadow in the 3D world. And then to take it a step further, this is 4D. This is 3D. And when you put your hand in the place of the sun, for instance, like my hand on this board, you're seeing the reflect. The reflection of your Shadow is the 2D shadow on the wall is showing you what is 3D movement. And, and the 4D self concept that you're changing as you fall asleep. That is what casts this shadow. This is a little deep and it's a little bit of pushing forward in the material. But anytime anything approaches me, I want to share it. Because breaking down Neville's material is very important. I think that there's a lot to glean from this. So every night you're wishing to be happily married and in a wonderful, loving relationship. This movement in 4D starts to become solid. So it. Before you know it, this is where you wake up. All of a sudden, this self concept in this, in this new 3D awareness of being. You wake up and now you're. You meet somebody, you go on a date, then you actually start to like the other person and they like you. And all of a sudden you're eating the same foods and you're doing the same things together. And all of a sudden, before you know it, you're getting married, you're having a life, you're buying a house, you're doing all these wonderful things. This self is now the one that you wake up in. It is your new self concept, this self. Although you don't wake up there anymore, it still exists. Because all God's creations are done. Every single form and version of God's creations are already done. So it doesn't matter. You don't have to worry about this self or the concept of self that you can go do its thing. The you you have desired to be. It also is already done. All you want to do is wake up in that concept of self. That's why you convince yourself, your inner self to make those movements. Those movements are reality. 3D is the shadow of those movements. So I wanted to make it make and point that out, make that clear because it's a very important piece of this. Okay. Ye shall decree a thing, and it shall come to pass. Ye shall decree a thing and it shall come to pass. You'll go from this self concept to this self concept. Ye shall decree a thing and it shall come to pass. Can now be told in this manner. You shall become conscious of being or possessing a thing. And you shall express or possess that which you are conscious of being. The law of consciousness is. Excuse me. The law of consciousness is the only law of expression. I am the way. I am the resurrection. Consciousness is the way as well as the power which resurrects and expresses all that man will ever be conscious of being. Oh my gosh. Neville's material so wonderful turn from the blindness of the uninitiated man who attempts to express and possess those qualities and things which he is not conscious of being and possessing. And be the illumined mystic who decrees on the basis of this changeless law. This changeless law. Okay. Consciously claim yourself to be that which you seek. Appropriate the consciousness of that which you see. And you too will know the status of the true mystic. As follows. Consciously claim that which you seek. Boom boom. I. Okay. As follows. I become conscious of being it. Excuse me, let me rewind. I became conscious of being it. I am still conscious of being it. And I shall continue to be conscious of being it until that which I am conscious of being is perfectly expressed. Yes, I shall decree a thing and it shall come to pass. This is chapter two of Neville's first body of work. Your faith is your fortune. And look what he said. There's so powerful information in this. I became conscious of being it. Remember now you're here. It doesn't matter what, what or who you are today. But you, you became conscious of becoming this. And my example was the loving married, happily married wife. Happily married husband. You became conscious of being it. I am still conscious of being it. So in this self concept, you wake up and you go to sleep here. But you became conscious of being this. And you're still conscious of being it. So you're consistent with it. How many times must you do it? 70 times 7. And I shall continue to be conscious of being, it being the new conscious self until that which I am conscious of being is perfectly expressed. Basically, you go into a state of detachment and you. You begin to wake up here. And through a bridge of incidents, you all of a sudden have experiences. In this example of your relationship, you meet somebody, you go to go out together, you go to eat together. You're liking the same food, you're drinking the same wine. And you're having an experience with each other that you all of a sudden feel inclined and attracted to. You feel this consciousness of being together because you put it in motion. You decreed the thing. And when you woke up in this having the date and going out and having fun and feeling in love, etc. You decreed it. You became it. Okay, that's chapter two. That was a great chapter. You shall decree again, only the second chapter of Neville's body of work here and first body of work. And it is saying so much. And Neville, man, oh, man, I. A lot of people say how they would have loved to have gone to one of his lectures and had their opportunity to ask questions, but there's so many questions and lectures. It's like there's almost everything's already been covered. I mean, it really. I think almost. I think pretty much everything has been covered. But that's just an opinion. So. Chapter two. Your faith is your fortune. We'll see you in the next video.
