From Aspirant to PMP: Avinash's Transformative Journey with Infocareer

Avinash shares how Infocareer's PMP training transformed his career and personal growth. He discusses the certification's value for professional development and offers advice for aspiring PMP candidates preparing for the exam.
Welcome Avinash. And thanks for joining this call. And on the behalf of entire Info Career team, we congratulate you. And it's a very biggest milestone for the people who achieve pmp. And probably as you progress in your career, you will experience how this curriculum and the certification will add a value. And so I just want to hear from you, how did this entire journey started? Okay. From when you wanted to do this and then how you did because doing is that doing a training program, it's a big deal.
Okay.
And then people completing it, then how was your journey started and finally when you got certification, how was your experience? Okay, so please tell us little about this journey and before that please share your little about yourself so that we know about your background and then you can start sharing your experience.
Okay.
Over to you, Avinash.
Yeah, thank you, sir. So I am a mechanical engineering graduate and I have been passed out in the year 2013. So I have a professional experience of around nine years and majorly into procurement, supply chain management, P2P process expediting and other things in supply chain management. So I met a colleague named Mohammed Ali so was a ex info carrion and he suggested me that I should take up this PMP course and I should get the certification done. So I was in a position to take certification in procurement capp. And when I discussed with him, he said that since he also a PMP certified person, he asked me to pursue this PMPA and with Info Carrier only and with the mentoring and training of Shaker sir. So then I called Shekhar sir in the first time and he said that this is what this curriculum is about and if you are interested you can join this training program which will be conducted in both offline and as well as an online courses. So then I had, I had calls from people from Info Career and one day I joined in this offline classes which will be conducted on Sundays on the first day of the class when Ahmed Sheikh is there, he has given me a paper and he has asked me to fill 25 questions where I have to pick the answers for the 25 questions. In the first instance I don't know what it was about and what will give give me the impression of that questionnaire is about. But at the end of the fifth class which I have completed then I came to know that it is the questions which will be I will be put into place once I complete the certification where I have to use my experience and exposure to make those decisions in the particular scenarios what will be the best for it. So in the, in those five days each day was a learning curve for me. On the first day told me that it was either this PMP is about paradox principle 80, 20, 80 people, 80% of people will look into it like getting or getting instructions from their managers and doing it. 20 of the people will succeed from being a manager and they'll be the person who will be having the business knowledge and as well as the value which should be provided to the community which has been termed as customer year. So under that first day of coaching, I won't say training it is, it is a coaching as well as a facilitation service. Like he told me that this is, this is what this PMB about. And there are two methods. One is waterfall and agile. Waterfall is the traditional method and Agile is the upcoming and a fast paced one. And in the first, in the first instance itself he showed that what the certification will do for us in the future. So it provides us a decision making capability for us also it taught us how to be a people oriented person rather than leadership oriented person. Like we have to be with the people not to be on a leadership role. Like we should not dictate people or we should not say that this is what you have to do. We should encourage the ideas what the fellow colleagues have for us and we should have a collective decision so that the business gets improved and the process also will be improved. So that was. That was the first class I attended and later on there was Manikam sir who has given us scope schedule cost and scope schedule cost and this one and later Swati has conducted U.S. resource and stakeholder management and later thought about quality and other perspectives like how to manage the stakeholders process procurement and other kind. And later part Natarajan sir gave us a full day of what agile training will be in this for all these five days it was about how this process has to be improved to better the process improvements rather than like being a person who direct gives directions to the people below. So this PMP is, has provided me exposure to be our people oriented person rather than dictator portion kind of scenarios. And also I I provide a I my sincere thanks to Sheikh sir for coaching me from the first day till before the start of my exam as well. So he was. You are, you are. Throughout my this journey you have been so supportive and there was no single piece of drop in my confidence when when I spoke with you as well. So when, whenever I had a chance to speak with you he said that you have, you're given excellent performance. You can, you can do and you can clear this PMP certification at the earliest. And also I want to remember that word which you said in a audio recording thing that you are going tomorrow to the exam hall to collect your certification and not get that certification. So that collecting certification is a part where most of us will be encouraged to go and attend the exam in a positive way. So that been a turning point. And from August 17th till today my perspective has completely changed when I started this course. So I was not a people oriented person before joining this course. Now I been able to think on the people's perspective like my colleagues perspective like what they will think about this and what are the changes they can bring to the process so that we can improve improve the business as well as the quality of the work what we are doing. So and my sincere thanks to user and hoping to get collaborated with you on a long term basis and this will not be a short term one. So and I just want to meet you in person and tender my thanks and appreciation to you so that you have been a pillar of pillar of support for getting this PMP done at the short span of time. Like.
Thank you. Thanks for sharing that and really I got your acknowledgement and anytime you can call and walk to our office, okay I'm available for you. And like you said this journey made a remarkable difference in the way which you work and thanks for sharing that.
Okay.
And the content, the way which we put up all these things, is it sufficient to take care of the exam or anything else we need to improve or any any changes we supposed to do.
Sir, as I said to you, you Natarajan sir, Manikam sir and Swati have not said what is there in the slide in that offline classes. You said that what this will impact in the process and based upon the experience you people have got in the field so that you have you have shared that experience with us that how this will impact in our business perspectives like in each and every person's field it will impact how it will impact. Like it will be based on scenarios and not based on slides. What is there in the class offline classes. So each and every class when we when we sat for the class so we had experience that something or other thing will be learning from you like with your past experiences and with your present knowledge and also with the amount of people you have seen over this career span of 20 to 25 years. So that it made us a remarkable difference in our thing. And whatever you have thought or whatever the knowledge you have shared with us, it it improved our chances of getting clear getting the certification done. So I think most probably furthermore knowledge sharing of what you had in your early part of your career like each and every scenario, if you explain with that thing it will be better for the future candidates or future students to get knowledge of what PMP is actually about. So and I also had a remarkable colleagues who have attended this training with me and they are also being interactive on each and every session. So the interaction in the session this keep for getting the certification done is what I feel like when we interact with you so that you can able to share us few more scenarios or few more examples of what you had experienced. So that brings us a clear understanding or clear picture of how we have to handle the scenario in a even a better way. So that in that sense it has been a terrific journey for me.
Very good. Very good.
Thanks. Thanks Avinash. And finally what do you want to say to PMP aspirants, people who want to take this journey? So what do you want to say to them?
I just want them to. I just want to tell them that they should follow what whatever you say, that's. That's fine. So based on you, you're giving few and little small stones which will provide a big stepping ladders for them so that they can able to climb up easily. They should not miss this small stones because they can't able to climb up the big ladder. Right. So they should take all those small stones and incorporate in their preparations and they should follow whatever you say that so that they can able to complete the certification as early as possible. So it is not about the certification part, it's about the knowledge and exposure what you'll be getting throughout this training as well as when you complete the certification and and what when we are going to implement those steps in our professional career as well. So that has been an important thing which I'll share with my fellow aspirants who wants to be a PMP certified person. And they and I want them to just follow whatever you are trying to say to them. Like whatever you are trying and saying to us. It it motivates us, it makes us feel better it and makes us to follow the path where we will be on a wider perspective, not on a narrow perspective. So the broader mind and the broader way of experiencing this knowledge areas and this methodologies will improve our chance of getting this PMP certified. So that is what I want to share with them also.
