From Overworked to PMP: Abdul's Success Story | #Infocareer #2024 #pmp #successstory

Abdul, a TCS professional in Mexico, shares how he balanced an overloaded work schedule to earn his PMP certification with Info Career's support. He discusses managing study time, the resources that helped most, and how the credential changed his career and personal life.
Thank you sir. Thank you so much. My name is. I'm working in Data Consultancy Services TCS now for the last, for the last 10 years, more than 10 years. So I was. The first five years I was working in India. So now I'm here in Mexico. I was deputed to Mexico and I'm leading a team here. So I wanted to do this PMP for a long time but I don't know where to start. What is the syllabus, what is the course, how to write this exam? No, I, I haven't had time to research also because the work here is very, very hectic. I, I was researching some the available institutes in India and that's when I came across Info Career. That's when I came across you. I got your number and I, I have not done in my diary though. So I, I need to call Shaker sir at this time though. And then I called you. The very first call. It was very clear and I was very confident. The way you explained me the process and how Info Career is going to help me. The resources availability and the. About the exam and how, how it's going to be. After the call I was very clear. I, I just want, I just was thinking how I'm going to fit this training in my time because my time is very, very busy here especially I'm handling the team here also the team in India. I work in the night, in the morning, sometimes in the weekend depending upon the projects. I was like how am I going to accommodate this? But I was very confident that this is the place where I'm going to clear the certification so I have to make it. So I changed my schedule somehow. And then, and then after one month, I think end of March and April, I started April 1st is my first class. So I went for a weekend class and since it was happening in Indian time, it was very comfortable. I, my class start here at 5, 5am for four hours and it was perfect for me to start in the morning also. So about the, about the plan that Info Career had. It was, it was a plan that is laid out already. That, that was something I was expecting. You know I don't want to go and research that they study that book. This book that videos this side. No, all in all in one place. That was very, very comforting for me to do this and I, that that is what gave me the confidence okay, this thing I can clear in this month because I had some personal commitments also. I was like if I take this, will I be able to manage it? Well, I have to Talk with my family. Hey, I have something is going on. I have to put some money here. Everybody cooperated and most importantly the training classes. When I start, I will start with the coffee and I used to listen the classes. And then once the weekend class is over, I take some time like one hour every day to study the videos in the IC leaf. I need to tell about IC LEAF and Road to project Success. It is very complete for any project management professional to understand the project management until the current date. I see the IC leave sometimes in bracket. It says updated. The resources get updated. I really love how. How I'm seeing the latest content without have to doing any research. I just have to go to the info career Road to project site. And then the way the IC LEAF is structured with so many exams, different levels. Oh, I loved it. I love to write exam. I just need to make sure that my mind is very clear, not distracted with something when you write the exams. But so April, one month, I finished the classes and then I had my target in two weeks to complete the IC LEAF exams and start the exam. But again that got delayed. But I didn't lose the focus the. The more and more trainings and the resources I study. I got very much confidence that I could do this and I, I didn't want to leave it to, you know, like four months, five months. Now I really want to clear it now because I have everything in hand so why should I leave it? And I used to listen your videos, your. Your audio recordings. It really helped me. Road to project Success and nice leaf and your. Your words is all made me clear this exam. Even the last minute call that I had with you. Oh my God. It was perfect for me to have this exam cleared. The only hurdle is the time and, and, and our focus. Sometimes I would have some conversation with my team or my family. You know, it's running in the background of my head and when I start the exam, I will lose it. And I used to think, okay, so this is how the exam is strategized. So I need to be very clear and put myself in the situation of the question to write the exam. Yeah, I started learning and IC LEAF was perfect to make me do mistakes so that I know, okay, so this is something I should not do. There are many instances when I was writing the exam, I was thinking my exam moments which icleaf gave. There were many moments which ICLEF was like, yeah, this is my place where I'm positive. Okay, this is where I need to be careful. So that thing, the resources and IC LEAF helped me to be very frank even in the exam moment. I was thinking this, this. Okay, IC LEAF have helped me so much with all those exam patterns and everything. And the plan is very clear. The info carriers vision is very clear. And right from day one it is just on our face. Okay, this is the plan you need to do. This is how it will be. This is the thing where you need to diverge and come back. Even if you. Even if you don't want to do, even if you procrastinate. You have put everything there like if this happens, this is going to happen. You. You guys have too much experience of, of working with many, many students and. And you have a very extensive knowledge of how different students handling these exams. It give me a whole level of idea of how this is work, how this is going to work and this, this whole level of idea is what I was looking for. And it was there and I just grabbed the opportunity. That's all I need to say no. And I want to write some more exams from PMI and I will be here again contacting Info Care and I will be doing it because not just I got confidence with pmp. I'm very confident with the. The end to end project management knowledge that I'm going to have today and for the future I'm going to be with Info Career to know all these things. Thanks to you sir. The last minute call, it was very precious for me. I shouldn't be overconfident and you gave that in the last minute. Even, even it is running in the back of my head just without words. And you gave the words even, even after coming back I was like okay, that thanks to infogr. I couldn't have done this without them. Yeah. The only hurdle is us just. We just need to put our time, not lose the focus, not procrastinate and do it. And. And yeah your words had it all and not a piece of cake but. But you seem to made it a piece of cake. Thank you sir. Thank you so much to you and to your team. There was excellent support from your team. I should definitely mention, I think Levine, Jasmine, they were there to support everything with my doubts, even during the booking, the slots and everything. You guys supported me very well. I really appreciate Infogear for this. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you Abdul, thank you for sharing this excellent summary of your journey. And it's not easy for somebody to do in two to two and a half months. Okay, so that's. We made it and it like you said, it also gives Confidence for us on the. The structure, whatever we created. So it really works. It really works. You are one among them to passing that. Thanks for giving that firsting us and then bringing confidence to us. Okay so thank you for sharing that.
You taught this sir. You taught this to do it.
So yeah, thank you. Thank you for that. And tell me in this journey of two to two and a half months, okay, a lot of things, there's a lot of takeaways of them in your day to day activity and your home. There will be. There is a reflection. Okay so any. Any takeaway for your day to day activity.
I have the answer already. I have the answer already. Did the the that this or that this and that. You don't know how many times it is helping me like. Like when you have to do this or that. No, it is not this or that. You have to do this and that. No, not just in pmp. Not just in pmp. And about the planning, I. I'm a very calculative person. Even I have plans the end of the year. Even I have plans what I'm going to do next year. If I have. If I don't have a plan, I get crazy. If I don't have a plan and I'm simply sitting. I used to think what I'm going to do now and it will drive me crazy. And PMP was something. Whatever theories or philosophy I had, it really gave the words and assured that yes, that is how it is. Like you said everything it is not just about Metro Rail project or what whatever you are doing. Personally PMP have gave me a structure like what you're going to do and there were many advices I have taken and this, this or that, this and that used to come in my head every day like no, you're not going to leave that work and do this. That's not how it's going to work. You have to pull it together. Both need to work that even before I'm started doing, I acknowledge my mind. No, you have to do this. Then my mind is ready to do it. There are a lot of takeaways from. From this training and from pmp. Not just in, in studying this exam in my professional route, in my day to day work, the way I talked with my family, definitely the way to communicate with my family and the way I see the problems it changed. I. I started. I started seeing even my personal problems like okay, there are some stakeholders so how are. How am I going to make the stakeholders and how may get passed through this event? No, no, it's it's outstanding. I don't know how to put in words. I think I did. But no, it gives you a lot of idea about your life and the way you want to do things. How you want to understand people, their expectations and how you bring them together, achieve the motive and make everybody happy. Yes. Yes. There are a lot of takeaways. Great Abdul.
And so that's what our context okay so calling this as a mentoring program so it's more than a certification. You have a reflection in your day to day activity like you rightly mind this or that for context stakeholders. So these all are very valuable thing. Thanks for sharing that. And what do you want to say to PMP aspirants people whoever want to take this certification or this program, what do you want to say to them?
This is going to change the the way you it's going to change your perspective the way you see things. Try to get into a platform like Info Career. Utilize the resources and the expertise expertise and their knowledge, their experience, their advices, their words. From Info Career you have all the plan laid out. You just need to come and execute all these things and and put your time be very focused not procrastinate. Manage your time well. You are going to learn many things, many disciplines inside pmp, inside Info Career. You just need to understand oh this is very worth it. No, if this I'm not going to take it then I don't know what knowledge I'm going to take from now on in, in the next in the next days of my career or in my life. So be very determined, disciplined, come to Info Career, utilize all the resources and and then yeah be a be a pmp.
Thank you. Thank you. Thanks for sharing that. And is the all the resources whatever you are given you it enough for taking that exam out?
Yes, I would say yes. I didn't buy PMBOK book. I didn't go outside YouTube to search videos. The only thing I learned was those videos in RO to project. Even if I have some doubts I'm going back to the lecture videos to the particular moment and make some comment or something or go back to the presentation and and look for the words no for the exam. With this I think it's absolutely okay. The syllabus is totally okay. Easily gets into your mind when even when you write the exam the presentation comes to your mind whether it is agile or whether it is a waterfall. Where is the question in which PPT did I study this? No, I think it is perfect sir. The the resources are perfect. You Just need to grab it.
Thank you. Thank you Abdul. Thank you for sharing your valuable inputs. Anything else you want to share with me?
I just, I don't have anything else but to say thank you and I, I really want to be associated with Info career. Of course not right now but I'm gonna be in touch with InfoGadd and if at all I get a chance to contribute something. I really want to train people like you. I, I, I got this aspiration now to train like you. You are my role model. Now I'm going to train people like you said, you need to give back to the community. So I will definitely come back and give back to the community. So I'm going to, I'm working on something else. But I will come back to study more and train more with infographics.
Sure, sure. So you can take a role. So we have a program called Train the trainer. You don't need to pay any, any, any money for us, but we will train you as a trainer. Okay. And so you can also give an opportunity on weekends, whichever works for you. You can also get trained. Okay. Whenever you want just send us a mail. We will send you details and how this process we will take you. I'll very happy you contributing to others. Okay. And anyway we are not going to leave you. We'll put you into community.
I know already.
I know there we will share knowledge sharing sessions in other programs. Whatever it happens. There are so many free programs we will share with you and you can attend that and anything you liked it. You can also upgrade in those kind of programs also. So a lot of knowledge sharing sessions.
You can, I will definitely, yeah, I will definitely look forward to it, sir. I, I don't really be in WhatsApp groups. The only groups I have in for various groups.
Thank you. Thank you for that. So thank you for your time and then it's a valuable input whatever you're given. And before I close, I will definitely convey all your regards to all the trainers as well as supporting this place. And so on the behalf of the entire team, once again we congratulate you. See normally people don't make this level. Okay, so only 100 people getting trained. 10 people go to the exam world over. Out of 10 people, two or three people only clear this examination. So you are one among them. Okay, so that's the activity which you are carrying. And please convey our special regards to your family members and colleagues of them. So without their support they, this may not be possible. Especially last one week. Whatever challenges you face know before so that's in a critical time. Without their support, not be possible. Okay, so thank you. Thank you for joining. And then have a good day. Okay.
You too, sir. Take care. Take care of your health. Thank you so much.
Bye.
