The discussion covers Sajia's professional background, her journey preparing for and passing the PMP certification exam, the support she received, and advice for PMP aspirants. The content is a detailed success story and testimonial related to PMP exam preparation and certification.
Really it was a thrilling experience for me and deciding to take pmp. So thank you all for giving me this wonderful opportunity. All the support is really I thank all of you for the wonderful opportunity for me. And so I am like I started like I'm from Chennai only like born and brought up in Chennai and then I did my computer Science engineering from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore and then from there I was campus selected in Tata Consultancy Services. So I have around 18 years experience in IT. So I I worked in TCS for around 10 years and later on I moved to Hewlett Packard and then state of Michigan. Then right now I'm a SCRUM Master in Infosys. Even though I when during my 18 years of journey I did various roles like I started as a software engineering developing applications technically then I was like business analyst. Like I also performed QA analyst roles and became a QA lead and gradually progressing to project leader and then project manager roles also I performed formally I performed but I was not having this technical certification with me because right now when right now currently I'm a submaster and even though I am having the CSM and RTE certification but still when we are applying for the roles, real project manager roles the PMP is one of the question like whether we are having that certificate. So even though I'm having five years of Scrum Master experience experience and it's kind of Agile project management only but still that PMP certifications everywhere, even if you're applying for outside jobs they are being asked. So then I slowly decided to take that PMP certification and even though when I was there is a lot of commitment and consistency and determination should be there to start this pmp. Like. Like not only we need to have like around two to three months of concrete time to prepare for this. So it's not like just like take the decide and then I go and write the examination. So it's not that way so and also family support is needed for this. Like you said I've seen in you seeing. So I really thank my family, my my husband Sanju and my daughters Nivedya and Aradhya and my mother in law Ms. Ragini for supporting me in this journey. So with all their support and with all the well wishes like from info career I was able to like do this PMP journey in a smooth way. That's what I would like to say about the PMP journey.
And so this preparations, whatever we given it to you, the training and then the materials and finally when you took this Certain mock exams. And so tell us whether how this has been in line with the exams. What you are really taken in the PMP exam.
So the first thing is like when I started like when I decided to come like slowly desire to take the pmp. So I needed the time and the support. And then I came to know about Info Carrier through my husband Sanju who got the information from his brother Ranju, he's in Australia and he did PMP through Info Career. So from that only my journey started. Info career. So once I joined I just followed the process like what the mentors sir was my mentor. And then I followed the process like go to all the. Like all the weekend classes. So once the class is over then that IC leaf. If the road to project success was there then go through that one. And then once the slides go through the slides and the videos parallelly then once just take like we have a saying like some drops of water will make an ocean. So it's like directly not jump into the mock exam. So I've seen in one of the videos where you have mentioned if directly taking a mock exam and seeing the results will. If it is not like positive for us we'll have lose the confidence. So slowly take that baby steps like go through that beginner level test and then intermediate once the slides are done and then take the advanced level. So once like basically I followed the process whatever Info career has mentioned and you and Tara Sara mentioned. So it really helped me in the like part of it. And once all the tests are completed then slowly take that gold mock exam. So couple first mock exam and two first two mock exams. After taking that as I cleared it I applied for that PMP evaluation. So actually what I felt was I could have done this evaluation even first itself. I. I didn't realize like it will take a week time for that. So there that was a lesson learning for me. So when I started the course itself I could have done that applying for that and to see my whether my eligibility. Because I am a scrum master for 55 years. Prior to that I was a project manager. So that is the one I felt. But I was waiting after the Gold exams are completed I was waiting for the result to come back from the PMP side that I am eligible to take the exam. So once I got that within immediate a week I just scheduled my exam based on that. Because Saturday and Sunday we don't have that exams only during that of Monday through Friday we can take it here. That's why I immediately took it on that Following Friday so giving a four days gap and slowly took the Titanium mock exams also. So mainly the mock exams was really helpful because like I said in my review also this is basically lot of scenarios like various scenarios are given and within a minute we have to decide on that scenario what action I'm going to take as a project manager so that rapidness I've mentioned the review also like that one we get only during the mock exams but. But the basic building block is first we have to clear all the beginner level and advanced level. So all that mock exams and the tests was really helpful. Whatever. I've completely gone through the materials the slides and presentation only from Info Career that is very helpful for me and also the one thing about that change man all those flow charts that flow charts and bullet points were given by in ICDs like that for change management or for quality management. There were various slides and also the how to start the study As a project manager like I should think like I'm a PM of a billion dollar project so that that kind of points like I think I took a printout of around 4 to 5 not everything but. But everything I had it in my soft copy in my laptop so I just gone through that so I've all the material from Info Carrier only I've gone through and I I'm sure like all that PMBOK key points are covered completely covered so that one I would like to recommend is going to aspect for pmp.
Thank you. Thank you for acknowledging that and very happy to know that it's in line with what is there in the exam. And so at the end of the exam and then you got a printout so provisional certificate pass. So how was that experience when. When you saw this book?
Yeah that was really thrilling experience and exam completely as I said it was like a roller coaster ride only like every minute the all the scenarios it's not like definitions or so various scenarios and maximum technically it is like 1.25 seconds we need to answer one question. So it is like basically that they are assisting on the skill of how in a minute how I can as a project manager how I'll decide on that. So that one I got through IC LEAF mock test so only and so and then completely all that four hour test once the test was over and previously I heard from my husband also saying that once the exam is over after that mouse circling it will come that result will come But I didn't see that in when I when I completed so I don't know whether now they Change the process. I was like once the exam was over I just was waiting for the result but result didn't come. It was like a blank screen for. For me and a blue screen and then it's mentioned like I don't remember what is mentioned also they immediately called the instructor and then I told her like I've completed the exam and I am not able to see the result. Then she was like perplexed and she mentioned like maybe you will get the result outside. So I was so then I just went outside and then. But I was like kind of based on the building block with the mock exams and everything. I was like kind of positively I was confident that I will ask the exam and once I went out they had over me the printout in like in the phone folded one they did not see the result. So when I opened it was like I was. I was looking for the word where it was mentioned. I am passed. So that was a very thrilling experience. Like then once I saw that I was so happy.
Thank you. And so what do you want to say to PMP aspirants?
