Follow Your Bliss - Finding Joe

Alexandra Johnson reflects on Finding Joe, a film about Joseph Campbell's hero's journey and following your bliss. She explores courage, facing fears, and nurturing creative dreams, then shares a personal update about making chocolates.
Hi, everyone. It's Alexandra. Hope you're having a wonderful day. So there's a few things that I'd like to share with you today, and the first one is Finding Joe. Finding Joe, the movie. My husband and I, Brian, went to go see the premiere this past week, and it's an amazing movie. Brian's in the movie as well. But it's a movie on Joseph Campbell and his work and the idea of the hero's journey and. And following your bliss. And following your bliss and moving through challenges and fears and what comes up as we follow our bliss and really live our destiny and having the courage to face our fears and having the courage to actually move through it and step out of our comfort zone so that we can live the life that we're meant to live, so that we can be ourself and that we can really rock it. So it's a really inspirational film, and I've seen it four, five times now, and every time that I watch it, I get something new out of it. And it's been really inspiring me in the last week to really. To really feel into what is next for me and the next kind of adventure and what are the fears that I'm facing around it, what are my challenges, what's stopping me from actually doing it. And yeah, it's very. I love it. I love the movie. I love Pat, too. Pat Solomon, who created the movie, is. It's been beautiful to watch. Meeting him early on in making the film and his hero's journey has been remarkable. I mean, this man is. I get goosebumps, like, thinking about it. It's so. My husband and I talk about it all the time. That Pat is such an inspiration for really feeling called to make this movie and going through his own hero's journey and all of his fears and being willing to put himself there in big and huge ways. And it's been beautiful to watch. And I'm deeply inspired by him. I'm deeply inspired by this movie. And yes, I just wanted to let you know that if you want. Check it out. Finding Joe. I think it's findingjothemovie.com and it's a brilliant film. So with that, just this. This idea of following your bliss, and one of the other guys in the movie is Alan Cohen, and I'm reading Alan's book right now. A Deep. A Deep Breath of Life. And I'm loving Alan Cohen. He's one of the professors at the Entheos Academy for Optimal Living, and we met him a couple weeks ago and I just, he's just like pure joy and enthusiasm and love and goodness. And I really, really resonate with his writing. So the quote that I like for today is if you love your project or vision, stick, stand behind it. It needs your energy and caring. If your venture is worthwhile, the world will come around. And even if the world does not stand in a claim, you cannot afford to abandon the child of your heart. And yeah, I love that there's this idea. We all have visions, we all have projects. And sometimes the world may not actually give us credit for it, or we may not be successful, or we may not make a lot of money, but we all have these creative impulses in creative dreams that need to be expressed. And I think I love this quote because it needs caring, it needs nurturing and we need to honor it and just keep doing it because we love it. It is our bliss. We just need to keep doing it and following it. And maybe it won't bring us a lot of money, but it gives us joy. And I think that so many times we don't do things because we don't think it'll make us money, but it's truly our joy. And I think that there's, there's more to money and prosperity and abundance. That isn't just the dollars, it's actually the joy. It's your bliss and really following that and honoring it. We have no idea what's gonna happen when we take these, as in the movie A Call to an Adventure. When we have a call to adventure and we actually dive in and we go for it, we have no idea what is going to happen. So I think it's really important to continue to listen to your heart, continue to move forward towards that call of adventure and not suppress it and not ignore it. I know that every single one of us has a creative dream and many creative dreams and visions. And for us to ignore it and not step into it and be willing to face our fears, being willing to face the challenges is that's just not a fulfilling life. And what I'm all about is really having all of us be ourselves. All of us living a fulfilling, prosperous, amazing, joy filled life. And I think our desires and our creative visions and our passions are what fuel our life. And if we truly want to be happy, we need to answer the call to adventure. We need to answer to our heart's longing. And we need to trust that our heart is guiding us to places that are magnificent and magical and incredible and inspiring and transformational and yummy and delicious. And when we actually, when we actually trust, when we surrender and we have the faith and say, you know, I don't know how this is going to turn out, but I've got to do it. I've got to go. And I know every single time that I've felt that nervousness, fear, yet so much enthusiasm and joy that I've got to do it. How's it going to happen? It's catapulted me into a whole new way of living and a new version of myself. So that's what I wanted to share today. You know, follow your bliss. Keep taking those big leaps and small steps and honor your creative dreams and really, really nurture them, care for them, and do it. No matter if you're going to make money, if people are going to see it, do it just because you love to do it. And, yeah, magical things will happen. So I hope you're having a wonderful day. I think I already said that at the beginning, but I do. I hope you're having a wonderful day. And there's one other thing that I want to share with you is I've been making chocolates. It's become, like, one of my new favorite things. And here's my little heart chocolate truffle. It's pretty cute. And then I made peanut butter cups with cashew butter instead of peanut butter, and that's them. Pretty cute. So anyways, I'm very excited about my chocolate, and I just wanted to share that. So that's all until next time.
