Hot and Cold Water Treatment

This is a YouTube video titled "Hot and Cold Water Treatment" created in January 2011 featuring Alexandra J. Johnson demonstrating and explaining the benefits and method of hot and cold water therapy, including skin brushing and circulation improvement. The content is a solo presentation focused on health and wellness tips.
Hello, it is Alexandra J. Johnson with my skin brush. Just got done. Skin brushing. Isn't this pretty nice? I got this@goddresskitchen.com if you want to pick one up, you can get it there or you can get it at your natural health food store. They always have these. So I'll do another video on how to dry skin brush. But for today, since I'm in my towel and we're next to the shower, we're going to be doing a hot and cold water treatment. And this video is dedicated to Emily, who Brian's been exchanging emails with about the hot and the cold treatment and how to do it and all that good stuff. And I was getting ready to get in the shower and Brian said, let's do the video now. So here we are in the real time, getting ready to get in the shower. So hot and cold water treatment. You start off with, you start off with 60 seconds of warm to hot water. Just kind of, you know, getting feeling nice and good. And then you do 30 to 60 seconds as cold as you can stand it. So, so turning the heat down, turn the cold up. And if you need to, you can dance around, you know, move. Sometimes if it's really cold for me, I'll do like one arm and then turn the other arm and another leg until my body feels like it's numb and it can handle it. And then I jump in. So just work with it and see what works best for you. So you do that for 30 to 60 seconds, cool, cold, and then you turn back on the hot and do it as hot as you can handle. Then you go back to the cold. Just keep doing this back and forth for 30 to 60 seconds. And I believe Emily's question was, should I be freezing my ass off cold? Yes, you should. You should. And if you have to let a little like, oh my gosh, this is freezing. That's all good. So yes, for freezing your booty off. So that's it. And try to, every time that you do it, try to get three to five cold bursts in there and always end on a cold burst. So that's it. 30 to 60 seconds. Hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold. And why, thank you. I'm so glad that you asked. Some of the benefits of the hot cold water treatment are, are number one, you feel fantastic. You're just vibrating and tingling and energized. It's a great way to wake up actually in the morning, just jumping in the shower. You'll feel vibrantly alive for your day. So that's One reason and another reason is that it increases circulation. So that's fantastic. We can always use a little bit more of circulation flowing. And also, if you have an area in your body that's not functioning properly, or you have an injury, a shoulder injury or a foot injury, or maybe something's going on with your liver or whatever, you can do a hot cold spot treatment on that. So if you have a little shower thing, you can bring that down and do hot cooled on that, or you can just put your shoulder in, whatever it is. And the reason that that's beneficial is it increases the blood flow to that area. So increased blood flow increases healing. So as much as you can do that, it's really beneficial. And detox. Yes. And it also is a great way to detox. So when you do the hot and the cold, your muscles expand, contract, expand, contract. And then as you are doing that, or as that's happening with the muscles, your body detoxes. So that's it. Those are the benefits and it's kind of fun. So that is all for the hot cold water treatment. I hope you enjoy. Let me know how it goes for you. Be careful. Your towel's falling up. And my towels. My towel's falling up. And if you have any questions, let me know and I will see you soon.
