Hello. Hello, Alexandra here. So today's video. This week we are focusing on how to be more playful and have more da na da na fun. And I'm going to start off with a quote from Brian Sutton. Sutton Smith. And it is the opposite of play isn't work, it's depression. I love this quote, and I think it's so true. If we are not having fun, if we're not feeling playful, we feel depressed, we feel lethargic, we feel ugh and cranky and irritable and overwhelmed and stressed. And I think that play is a magical elixir that really can really help us feel vital and happy and joyful and amazing. And I have a few things that I want to share with you on this today of how to be more playful and to have more fun. And the first one is to have play be a way of life. And what I mean by that is for most of us, we look at our day and like, this needs to get done and to call this person, run this errand, go grocery shopping, blah, blah, blah, all of our to dos, right? And then we think, oh, once I get all that done, then I can have fun, then I can play. But I think we've got it backwards. I think that we should could look at our to do list and look at our day and say, you know what? These are the things that I need to do so that my life runs smoothly. Whatever that is for you. How do I add more play and more fun to what I already have to do? There's no reason that we can't joyfully and playfully make breakfast or do the dishes or do laundry or call customer service or do all of the little things of our daily life and have fun doing them. So I think the biggest way to do this is we need to reorient our life around play, and we need to look at the stories that we have about play and be willing to create new stories. For so many of us, it's just habits we have habitual ways of being and living that says that we need to be serious or when you do this, you should feel stressed and overwhelmed and all of these things. And that's not the case. It is all a story. Everything that we believe is a story. So my whole idea, philosophy, intention is to create new awesome stories about how fun life is and to really find ways that I can add playfulness into my life and that I can have fun and that I can go against what's not normal. Like, who says that you can't dance on the street? There's a great video all about dance walking. And I have a link in it for my blog post for this video. And it's hilarious. I love it. The guy is just rocking it out, walking and dancing, listening to music. It is classic. And that's a great demonstration of, like, who says that you can't sing and dance in laugh and have fun in your daily life? And I'm not saying that this is easy. Like, it feels really good to be playful and to have fun. And it's also a discipline. We need to be committed. We need to say, you know, play, the element and spirit of play is important to me. And I am going to commit to having the attitude of play be a dominant focus of my life. And the more that we do that, the more that we set that intention and do things and practice and experiment and say, okay, this usually stresses me out. What can I do differently today so that I can add more joy and celebrate life and have more fun with it? Maybe for me, it's like turning on music. It's like shaking my booty. Those are things that really help me. And then also just reframing my mindset. If I notice that I'm feeling stressed and overwhelmed, to me that's a signal that I need to reframe, that I need to create a new story. I need to create a new context so that I can actually feel joy, joyfully happy and alive and awesome. And it is training, it is definitely work, which I highly recommend to do to actually have this be a way of life. So those are some of the ideas you can. I have a top 10 list and I'll put the link below here so that you can see my top 10 list, my top 10 big ideas on how to be more playful and have more fun. And I'm also teaching a class at the Academy for Optimal Living, which I'll put a link down there as well for that.
