Alexandra shares personal insights and practical advice on how physical and emotional well-being influence communication and connection with intimate partners, family, and friends.
Hello, this is Alexandra. I hope you're having a great day. So today we are going to chat about relationships and it's going to be a little bit of a different take than a lot of relationship information and goodness that is out there. I think that the, one of the most important things that we can do for our relationships is to take care of ourselves, to really get the right nutrition, to get enough sleep, to move our bodies, to have time where we're relaxing and chilling out. These are huge, huge for creating vitality and happiness within our body, mind. And if we can do those things, then we are more present and more aware and more loving and more kind to our intimate partners, to our friends, to our family. So it is really, really important. And I have to say, you know, this has come from personal experience. I've realized, and my husband and I have realized that most of our disagreements or arguments or just not vibing is when one of us is tired or hungry or we're stressed or we're angry. We didn't get, you know, enough rest, we didn't move our bodies. Something. There is usually something that has nothing to do with what we're talking about. We always say what we're arguing about has nothing to do with what we're arguing about. So if we can get clear about, okay, what is it? And take 100% responsibility for our well being and say, you know what, actually I'm just really tired and I had a really stressful day and sorry that I'm taking it out on you. I don't need to, I don't mean to. I need to take responsibility and do what I need to do to get back into my essence, to get back to being centered and grounded, whatever needs to happen so that we are connected to ourselves so we can communicate authentically. And it's coming from a pure space rather than a tired, stressed, hungry, cranky place. So I think it's really, really important to, you know, to be healthy is obviously really important. But then also for our relationships, if we've been eating junk food and caffeine and we're like jacked up on all of that, and then we had a really stressful day and then we come home and we're just irritated, Our body's irritated, our mind's irritated from all the stimulants and then something that our husband does or our kids do, we just get triggered. But it's not really them that's doing it because they probably do that every day. It's actually you just being jazzed up. And stimulated. So I think it's really a huge practice of honoring the nutrition. You know, taking care of your body, making sure that you're eating your fruits and your vegetables and then drinking enough water and all the things that I come back to over and over in this video. But these are huge things for having a loving, thriving relationship. So checking in anytime that you're having a disagreement with someone or, you know, you don't feel like you're communicating authentically or you just feel upset or angry in a conversation, check in and see what's going on with you, taking 100% responsibility, and see if you maybe faltered on something that, you know, makes you feel vibrantly alive. How was your nutrition? Did you drink water? Did you get sleep? Did you not deal with your stress? Did you get angry and not deal with it? Like, what's underneath the argument that you're currently having? Because there's usually a backstory that's contributing to the disagreement that we're currently in. So that's the idea for today. I hope it was helpful, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on taking ownership of your health so that you can have loving, vibrant, thriving, and gorgeously delicious relationships. Let me know if you have any questions, and have a wonderful day.
