Hey, everyone, it's Alexandra. I hope you're having a great day. So today's video Goddess mama support. And this is a really important topic for the postpartum phase for new mamas out there and in pregnant mamas. So for me, I talked to a lot of mamas. I interviewed a whole bunch of experts, and everyone was like, get support. Get support. Get support. And I was like, okay, great. Get support. It's not that big of a deal. I think I can handle it. Whatever. Let me tell you, on the other side of it, having a baby, get support. I echo everyone's wisdom. Get as much support as you can. You're going to want it and need it after having a baby. So there's kind of three things that I want to share today. Three tips. And the first tip is get support from your husband or your partner. You know, a lot of us want to be able to do everything, and we think that we can go on how our life was, and we should be able to get more done. And all of these things, all these stories will come up. Once you have a baby and realize you're not gonna get everything done. You're only pretty much gonna be taking care of a newborn for the first couple weeks, if not months. So it's pretty full on. So have a conversation with your partner and let them know what they can do to support you. And a lot of times, you won't know what you need until after you have the baby. But be willing to ask for help from your partners. Our partners want to help. My hu is amazing. He is super committed to me, really thriving and flourishing as a mother, and it's been challenging for me to ask him to do the dishes or ask him to do certain things, and he wins the award. He's done way more laundry than I have done ever. And, yes. So just be willing to ask your partner for help. You're not a loser. If you have to ask for help. You are taking care of a child, and that is a big, big task. So. So be willing to have a conversation with your partner and ask for help. Ask for help. Ask for help from your partners. And they like it, too, because then they know they don't have to guess what we actually need and what we want. So if your partner knows what you want and you are very clear and specific, you can help me in this way. Then you set them up to win and that they really love to win and support you. So they will be happy with you sharing what you. What you want and what you need. And the second thing is to get another woman, another mother to support you. And if you have your own mother to help you, have her be there for at least six weeks to help you if you want, or if she wants, if it works in your schedule. And also if you want to get a doula or maybe a friend who's been a mother. We hired a doula, and her name is Maya. And I love, love, love Maya. A doula is a woman who serves. So it's a woman who serves another mother, a woman who serves the mother. And Maya is such a doula. And I know when we first hired Maya, when I was pregnant, I was thinking, I don't really know what she's gonna do in the postpartum phase. I didn't know what to expect, actually on a doula. And I could not have navigated the postpartum phase nearly as gracefully as I did without the support and love and help from Maya. I will say it again. I love Maya and doulas. You rock. You rock. So if you feel like it, if you want, if it works in your budget and whatever, get support from a doula. They are magical, and they are here to support you. So stepping into motherhood. So I highly, highly recommend a doula and. Or a friend, somebody who's been through the transition into motherhood so they can be there to support you and help you and guide you and listen to you. And I've asked Maya so many questions on new motherhood, and she's been fantastic for me to really help me flourish into my motherhood. And the third thing is find a friend or somebody who's been newly through the process. So I have a couple friends who have had babies in the last two years. So I've talked to them, I've emailed them, I called them on certain things, and they've been so helpful because they're still new in the journey. So we've been able to dialogue about these questions, and they've been fantastic. And I have to give a shout out to my friend, Angela Stokes Monarch, who has been amazing. She. She. I've emailed her so many questions, and we've just had a great, great email exchanges about motherhood. And she's been so supportive and so helpful of me, and I. And I thank you. Thank you, thank you. So I think it's really important to have somebody who's further along the path of motherhood so that you can ask them all of your questions and you will have lots of them. Am I doing this right? Was your child like this. What about sleep? What about feeding? What about nipple soreness? All sorts of questions you will have once you have a baby. So ask for that support. And new mothers really help. Love to help. I love to be able to help people who are, you know, not yet having the children or just had their babies and being able to support them. So it's a beautiful circle of mother love. So everyone wants to help. So those are my three big topics. Ask your partner for what you want. Get a doula, have a mother, somebody there for the first couple months to really support you in stepping into motherhood. And then also having a friend that you can call, that you can email, that can come over that's farther along on the path that can help you. So I hope that that helps. And I'd love to hear any other questions that you have on Mama Goddess goodness. I'm going to be doing more videos on motherhood and things like that. So please let me know your questions that you have and I look forward to hearing what you guys want to hear. So have a wonderful day. And if you are pregnant, I send you lots and lots of love and blessings and may you have the best birth ever. And remember to ask for help. Ask for help. Ask for help. You're not a loser if you ask for help. You are strong and empowered. And goddesses who ask for help are rock stars. So that's it for today. I hope you have a wonderful one. And until next time.
