Hey everyone, it is Alexandra J. Johnson. I just wanted to do a video on meditation. So I know that a lot of you that are watching this video are familiar with meditation or have a meditation practice, but I just wanted to give some tips and just some ideas of how to meditate. If you don't know how to meditate or if you want to just start off and give a meditation practice a try. So I have been meditating for two and a half years, every single day. I have not missed a day in over two and a half years now. And it's really, really exciting and I plan to do it always. It is just what I do. I wake up in the morning, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, get some water and meditate. It's I what, what I have done every single day. I have cultivated a blissipline around meditation and there's definitely been days where I didn't feel like meditating, but it is what I do and I just did it and it's pretty awesome now. I just wouldn't miss a day. It is so, so important to me. And I usually meditate in the afternoon. That isn't 100% but it's about 90% of the time. I meditate for 15 minutes the afternoon and 30 minutes in the morning. So I also want to check in and see if you. For Rocky Goddess Life. I am doing 24, so there's 20 tracks of affirmations and guided blissitations and they're awesome. I love them. And I would love to, you know, give you a little sneak peek if you want. You can at the end of, you know, at the bottom here comment and just say, I am a healthy goddess. And if you do that, then I will have your email address and I will send you the I am a healthy goddess felicitation, which is essentially a 15 minute track. And you have five minutes of affirmations and then you have 10 minutes of, of soothing music with subliminals. So the affirmations, you know, go low and they just are subliminally, you know, flowing through your consciousness. So it's a really, really great practice of just, you know, affirming your health and then allowing silence and music to just soothe you. And it's a great way to start off a meditation practice. So want to offer that out? Comment below. I am a healthy goddess and I will send that to you. So we have that. We have the guided goddess felicitations and then meditation. So to start out with a meditation practice, figure out a comfortable position for you. I Like to sit cross legged, that works the best for me. And just put up a little pillow or something underneath my booty to make sure that my spine is straight and, you know, comfortable. So I like that some people sit like this or you can just sit in a chair, whatever feels good for you. Find a position that works as long as your spine is straight. So then he ground in your body and you close your eyes. And what I like to do is just as I close my eyes, start focusing on my breath, the natural rhythm of my breath, just feeling into my breath, feeling into my body, seeing what's going on and just getting present grounded and centered in my body. So just breathing in. And if you're really stressed or you're in your head, I like to take a deep breath in and exhaling it out of your mouth. So inhaling and just letting that go and just keep doing that until you feel centered and grounded and present in your body. So that is how I usually start, is just focusing on the breath. You can do that for a 15 minute meditation practice if you want. Just focusing on your breath, you know, relaxing. And then I just, you know, just feel into my body. And some other breathing exercises that I think is really beneficial to do is focusing on deep breathing. So breathing in. There's three parts to deep breathing. So breathing in your belly, then into your chest, and then up into your clavicle and your shoulders and then releasing from shoulders down to chest to belly. So what I like to do, just kind of a guiding way of doing it, is bringing my hands here and then inhaling my belly, inhaling my chest, inhaling my shoulders, and then releasing shoulders, chest and belly. So breathing in, that's a great way to just start into deep breathing and then just do deep breathing until it feels good. And again you could do deep breathing for 15 minutes, which would be amazing for your mind and your body and just filling up your body and bloodstream with oxygen. It'll really feel delicious. So those are just some ideas that I do and I recommend that you do it for 10 to 15 minutes. It's scientific, has scientific, scientifically it has been proven that you do it for 12 minutes and you stimulate the relaxation, relaxation response, which creates healing and rejuvenation. So, you know, ideally 12 to 15 minutes of just meditating and relaxing and allowing that relaxation response to nourish and heal your body. And then, you know, with the mind it's really important to just focus whatever it is that you're going to focus on. If it's, you know, Focusing on your breath, as it naturally is, focusing on deep breathing, but keeping your awareness on your breath or on your body or on a mantra, whatever it is, keeping your focus there. And you know, a lot of times people meditate and they're like, oh my gosh, my mind is going all over. This isn't meditation, but the meditation is bringing your awareness back, bringing it back. And when your mind wants to go on an adventure, which it often times does, that's just what your mind does. Bring it back, focus on your breath, get in the present moment, and then your mind goes off and then you bring it back. That is what meditation is. It's training your mind and relaxing your body. So I hope those tips help. Let me know if you have any other questions about meditation, and let me know if you. You want the guided belicitation to gently guide you into your relaxation response. And that is it. So meditation, I recommend do it daily, as many times as you can and as often as you can. And if you think you don't have time to meditate, you need to create time, because that means that your schedule is full and you're busy and you're active, and you really, really need that time to be still and relax your body and focus your mind and just fill up your energy tanks. So that's it. I hope you have a fantastic day and I will see you soon.
