Relaxation & Transformation

This is a YouTube video titled "Relaxation & Transformation" created in August 2011, featuring a monologue by Alexandra discussing her personal experience with a month-long digital detox retreat and exploring themes of relaxation, natural pace, and transformation. The content focuses on balancing intense, driven energy with peaceful, receptive energy to foster personal growth and well-being.
Hello, this is Alexandra. So today's video, I want to talk about relaxation and transformation. And since my last video, I went on a month long retreat where I didn't, I didn't check my email, I did not get on Facebook, Twitter, any of that. I spent as much time as I could away from the computer and the Internet and just did things I loved. And yeah, it was just kind of a retreat. I wanted to see what it would feel like to not have all of the social networking in my day to day life. And it was an amazing experiment and one that I will definitely do again probably in the near future because I really, really loved it. And one of the things that has really been coming up for me is this. We talk about it in the Rock youk Goddess Life program and it's about your essence pace. So what is your natural pace? How do you want to move in the world? What feels good for you? What pace? And in our modern world everything is really fast and intense and just like full on and you know, everybody's, you gotta be busy and you gotta have a full to do list and you need to be doing this. And there's just so much, so much going on in so many people's day to day lives. And that for me just does not, doesn't feel good. And I know I've worked with a lot of women who almost sigh. It's a sigh of relief of, you know, wow, I do not function at that pace either. And there's this feeling that we need to keep up, we need to keep doing things, we need to keep pushing, we need da da, da da. And so, so this idea that I've been playing with is saying no to that and then finding my own, find your own pace and what feels good. And like I said, there's this idea with the. It's almost a masculine energy. It is a masculine energy where you're very driven and you're making things happen and you're pushing and you create these big goals and you need to create these big goals to actually grow and expand and transform. It's a very adrenaline fueled pursuit. And what I'm exploring is that that's a very awesome energy to cultivate, but that there's a different way that we can go about transformation. And I think we need to have balanced, have them both be in our lives. So we need to be able to access this masculine, driven, intense, adrenaline filled energy. And then there is more of this softer and it's, you know, really relaxing and allowing your body and allowing your mind to relax. And it's a receptive, a more present, a more peaceful energy. And it's when you really can allow yourself to allow your body to relax. Like right now, just take a deep breath and feel what's going on in your body. So many times our bodies are so tight, and when we are tight, we're not allowing that life force, that chi, that energy to flow through our body. So the energy is getting blocked in our body. And if we can really surrender, if we can really allow our bodies to open up, that is true. That's where true transformation happens. And I had a. When we were living in Bali, there was Ayurvedic practitioner and she was saying that the key to transformation is relaxation. You know, if you can really relax, you will transform. And I remember thinking, you know, that's a good idea. I like it. But until recently, I'm like, wow, there is major power in that. And it's really challenging, especially in the west and the modern world, to really relax, to really let yourself go, to let go of all the thinking and the striving and the pushing and the forcing and just say, you know what? Life is good. And I'm going to be present and I'm going to relax and I'm going to allow this life force to flow through me and transform me. And we all have this. This evolutionary pull within us, this impulse to grow. That's just part of being a human being. So when we can relax into this transform naturally happens. There isn't a forcing, there isn't a pushing, and it's a surrender to our divine potential. So that's what I am working with right now. And it's not. Not doing anything and just being super chill. It's doing things but doing it with a level of presence, a level of peace, a level of relaxation, and taking those times throughout the day to breathe, to relax, and to really focus on simplicity so that I can really, really enjoy my life and all the things that I'm doing in my life. If my schedule is packed, it's really challenging for me to just keep going and stay present in my body. And maybe at some point I'll be able to do that. But for now, this is my practice of really relaxing into that sweet space so that I can allow that energy to transform me. And I think that the more that we can relax, the more that we can let go of our thinking, our planning, our organizing, and just be in our bodies, the more that our negative or things that we would like to let go. Ways of being habits just naturally dissolve because we're opening up to a whole new game in our lives when we really allow that life force power to take over our life. So that's the idea for today. So I invite you to relax, spend some more time relaxing, taking deep breaths, going slow, being more present, simplifying your life and how it feels. I know for me, I'm always happier and more joyful and feel more connected to my authentic self when I really, really rest in this space of relaxation. So I look forward to hearing how it goes for you and look forward to your thoughts. And I hope you have a fantastic day. And until next time.
