Releasin', Meditatin' & Lettin' Go

This is a YouTube video titled "Releasin', Meditatin' & Lettin' Go" created on April 1, 2011. It features a monologue by Alexandra sharing her personal reflections on balancing hard work with relaxation and spiritual connection, inspired by her experience after a yoga class. The content is a personal motivational talk focusing on mindfulness, meditation, and self-awareness.
Hey everyone, it's Alexandra. So I just got done with a wonderful yoga class and I was on my way back home walking and listening to Ricky Beckwith, Ricky Beebe. And the song was I release. And it was I release. I let go. I let the spirit run my life. I am free in the spirit. Yes, I'm only here for God. I release. So, yeah, they just totally rock out and jam. Thanks for indulging in my singing. I was singing on the street as well. It's fun. I love to sing. But the reason for the video is not to entertain you with my wonderful singing voice. But I had an epiphany of. I just did a video on working hard and I had this thought of some of you may think working hard is grinding and making things happen and forcing things to happen and just keep on, keep on, keep on. For me, that has working hard. I don't have a negative association to it. I actually, I like it. But working hard. We want to work hard. But stay what I like to call we want to be relaxed, a relaxed intensity. So, you know, our body's relaxed and our heart is open, our mind is open. And we're also really intense and really passionate and really committed. But there's a relaxation, there's a receptivity to it. So sometimes if we're getting into a space where we're working really hard and grinding and grinding and things aren't coming together and we feel our body constricting and our mind contracting and things like that. What we oftentimes need to do, which can be challenging in the moment, is just take a step back and go meditate, belicitate, do a prayer or do one of our blissitations or something to connect back to your body, back to your essence. And when you do that, you know that's still working hard because you have the self awareness to know that you're getting all cramped up and you need to expand. You need to have new possibilities. And a lot of times if we're constricted and in the grind, there aren't a lot of new possibilities. We only see one track. So taking that step away and going to meditate and pray and be willing to have something new come through, have some guidance of what is the best way for me to go about this project, what is the best way for me to love my family member? What is the best way, you know, just feeling into different possibilities. And when we relax and step out of the. The contraction and the grind, there's an opening, there's receptivity to new ways of being. So when we can step back and we can relax our brain waves from high beta brain waves to take it down to a chill alpha, that's when we can connect to spirit, connect to our essence. And so we want to do that often, especially if we're feeling strong, rest. So taking that break and connecting to our essence and seeing what's there for us, see if there's anything that we need to be doing differently, you know, is there, whatever. So just asking the questions, saying, you know, whatever it is. If you have a prayer practice or a meditation of just saying, I'm open to listening. What is, what's the best next step for me? You know, why? What do I need to do to make this move smoother? Just have an open receptivity and calm your mind and body down. So I just wanted to make that clarification that sometimes you gotta release, let go and know that you're only here for God. Yeah. So I just wanted to say that as well. So I have. Part of working hard is just having a self awareness of knowing what, what is going to serve your highest self, what is best for you in each moment. And sometimes that is, you know, pushing through something and sometimes it's relaxing and taking a step back and sinking back into yourself and grounding and centering yourself so that you can move forward more authentically, more powerfully and with more flow and ease. So I just wanted to share that goodness that I had a little aha. That I have as had as I was walking home from yoga. I hope you enjoyed. Thank you so much for watching and I will be sharing more soon.
