This is a YouTube video titled "Think Less. Live More." created in March 2014. It features a single speaker named Alexandra sharing a reflective and motivational talk about the importance of reducing overthinking, being present in the moment, and trusting the natural flow of life. The content is a personal and philosophical monologue aimed at encouraging mindfulness and relaxation.
Hello, Alexandra here. So today's video is Think Less and Live More. And I'm sure that you have noticed that you think a lot. We all think a lot. We think and we plan and we analyze and we think, think, think, and we plan and we analyze and we try to figure out what's gonna happen in the future, and we think about what happened in the past. And we're just. We're thinking machines. Supposedly. We have anywhere from 50,000 to 90,000 thoughts in a day. And that is a lot of thoughts. So what I find really fascinating is not changing my thoughts as much, focusing, like, when I have negative thoughts to positive thoughts, all of that, which I've done a lot of that and affirmations and things I. Things like that. But what I'm really excited about nowadays is to just think less, to let my mind rest. And what I found is the more that I let my mind rest and don't think and plan and analyze as much, I create space. There's a spaciousness in my mind. And in that space is where the divine universe, God, whatever you want to call it, can. Can fill up like there is a. An empty cup. And then the universe can, like, whisper and, you know, give you divine inspiration and things that you need to know when you need to know it. Like, we don't need to have everything planned out and figured out in our lives. And that's just the tendency of the mind to want to have the master plan and to keep ourselves and to keep our families safe. And so we think about every possible thing that could go wrong in our business and our health and all of it. Like, we just feel like if we worry enough, maybe it won't happen, or we need to brace ourselves for if that happens. What will I do if that happens? Oh, gosh, I don't know if I can handle that. All of that stuff. Anytime that I find myself in those spaces of clenching, of like, ah, I need to figure this out. Like, I don't know if I can handle that. I need to do this forcing, pushing, pulling. I realize I am in, like, crazy thinking mode, and I just need to relax and rest and to think less. And how you think less. This is how I think less. You might do it differently, but it's to come back to the present moment and to be aware of what I'm doing, why I'm doing it. And so I'll give you an example. Let's say I'm driving in the car and I notice that I am thinking about a project or thinking about the dry cleaning or thinking about whatever. My mind is just racing. I'm having work, one of those or a hundred of those 50,000 thoughts and I notice, oh wow, I am thinking, but that's. I can't do anything about the dry cleaning right now. What I'm doing is driving. So let me come back to the present, take a deep breath, become aware of sitting in my seat, becoming aware of my hands on the steering wheel, breathing and enjoying the drive. Just drive. I don't need to think or plan or anything. I can just be. And I found this to be really, really restorative, to bring my attention back to where I want it. And the thing is that there is like magic everywhere, like everywhere we look. As long as we are present, then we can see it. But if we aren't present, then we miss out on our life. Like I, I've been noticing how much I miss all the little things in life because I am thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking. And when I stop thinking, well, not stop because you can't entirely stop. But I come back to the present and just relax and ease into life. That I live more, which feels really good. I am engaged with my life, I'm present to my life and it feels really, really, like I said, restorative and nourishing. So that's the idea for today, is to think less, to come back to the present moment, breathe, notice the sensations in your body, notice what is happening around you and then live, Live. And don't feel like you need to have it all planned out. You don't. There is a divine plan. Things always happen when they need to happen and you don't need to control it all. You can just let go and surrender and say, you know what, this is what I'm doing right now. I'm doing the dishes, I'm doing the laundry, I'm with my child, I am making a video, I am listening to my friend, whatever it is that you are doing. And I just heard a bell, which is my reminder to take a deep breath. So with that, that deep breath and that reminder to take a deep breath, I'll leave that, that with you. So take a deep breath, relax, think less, live more. Be present to all the miraculous things that are all around you and trust in the process. Trust that it is all unfolding perfectly, that you can release the reins, you can let go of the reins and just do what is in front of you, do what's next and give it your full attention. Don't think about if it's the, the right thing. To do the wrong thing to do. Just do it. Just do it. Just be with it. Do it and enjoy the process. So I hope this was helpful, and I hope that you have a wonderful day. Until next time.
