Your Challenges Make You Stronger

Alexander shares personal stories about nutrition, body image, and motherhood to argue that challenges are opportunities for growth. He encourages viewers to face their struggles with confidence and resilience rather than avoid them.
Hello, Alexander here. So today's video is your challenges make you stronger. I'm going to start off with a quote from Martin Luther King. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Thank you, Martin Luther King. And this is so brilliant because I wish sometimes that life was just happy dances and sunshine and roses all the time. But the reality is, it isn't. We all have challenges. We're all pushing up against our edges. We're all growing, we're all expanding. It's part of life. And what I'm realizing is that the challenges are just growth opportunities. It's not something to be scared about. It's not even something to be overwhelmed with, even though that might be part of the process of it all. But that it. The challenges are so vital to our energy and to our purpose and our destiny. And I think sometimes we can want to. When we feel challenged, we want to blame other people, we want to blame the system, we want to blame our ourselves. We just want to take responsibility away from ourselves. And it's like out there is causing me problems. And if that was fixed out there, then I would be happy and all of that. And this can be really tricky because sometimes it sneaks in there in interesting ways. But just to be mindful of it and to say, you know, I take 100% responsibility for my life and yes, I'm feeling this challenge right now, whatever the challenge is. And then how are you going to navigate it? Are you going to become a victim and feel crappy and depressed and upset about it, or are you going to say, you know what, I'm gonna rise up, I'm going to rise up. This is forcing me, causing me to be a better human being. There are lessons to be learned and to really, instead of having so much fear and self doubt and overanalyzing, which I can do all of these things, to stand up and say, you know what? I am enthusiastic, I am feeling challenged, and I am excited about it. Like, bring it on. Like, what if we addressed our challenges and said, you know what, bring it on, bring it on. I am ready for this baby. I am fully capable of handling this challenge. Because a lot of times we can feel helpless. Like, I don't know if I'm gonna figure it out and it feels too intense. But when we have those moments of, ah, I don't know if I can do this, like, and you just want to crawl in your bed and you want to hide and you want it to go away, and you wish it was easier. And all of those stories that are there say, you know what? I'm gonna bring it. I am going to bring it. I'm going to rise up. I can do this. There is a solution. There is light at the end of the tunnel. And part of this is just the hero's journey. You know, we go through this process, and sometimes there's the dark night of the soul. And the thing is, when we're at the dark night of the soul, when we feel super stressed and super anxious and angry and upset, that that's where the juice is. That is where the transformation is. Like, don't stop too early. Be with that process and be willing to move through it, because there are gifts on the other side of it. We give up. We give up too early, and there's resignation and negative stories that just take us over and spiral us down. So anytime we're feeling that, we're feeling that spiral down. That is the time to rise. Cheers. I feel like I'm, like, all, like, I don't know, Miss motivational or something. Anyways, I'm really passionate about this because this has been a huge part of my journey. You know, I used to look around and think people just seem like they got it figured out. They don't have any challenges. And I'm having all these challenges, but the reality is everyone's having a challenge. There's usually everyone has some sort of challenge in their life. And when we can shift looking at our challenges as growth opportunities, and it's an opportunity for us to be a better human being and to fulfill our dreams and manifest our destiny and all of that, then. Then we can have the confidence, then we can stand in those challenges in a powerful and confident and amazing ways. And I have a few examples. One is with my nutrition and my body and food in general, like, I've had a lot of challenges with my skin and with my digestion and with my body image and weight and food and overeating. And it's been a process of, like, 15 years of navigating that for me and getting to a place where. Where it feels really good and I feel really, really confident. But at times, it was really challenging. I'm gonna have journals where I hated my body, and it's just intense. And I had, like, really bad acne, and I couldn't figure it out and all of these things. And I now realize that that was a gift. Like, I from those challenges, was led by to study and to read and Take certifications and to figure this out for myself. And now it's such a gift because I can help other people along the journey. I can help people with nutrition and their food and body image and overeating and having a different relationship with food. And I'm so grateful for it because that challenge literally has led me to my destiny. Like, that is a part of my destiny. And it's. I'm super grateful that I had that challenge. And I've had so many challenges from feeling really insecure and not following my dreams and procrastination. And my newest one is stepping into motherhood. And, you know, there's always something. There's always something that we're working on, so why not, like, just get excited about it and say, okay, here we are. I'm at another challenge, another crossroads, another hero's journey cycle. And I'm gonna bring it. I'm gonna bring it. That's what I'm gonna do. So I want you to think about something that is a challenge in your life. Like, what is challenging you right now? For me personally, it's my self care and motherhood and my creativity. Like, how I can balance all of those and feel satisfied and fulfilled. What is it for you? And then look at how this challenge is helping you grow. Like, where is it pushing you to be a better human being? Like, to be more confident, to be more resilient, to be more loving? Like, what is it causing you, forcing you maybe to be? And then how can you. How can you stand up and rise up to the challenge and be confident and know that you're going to figure this out, that it is going to run its course and that you can move this, you can handle this. Because a lot of times we feel helpless and that we can't actually handle it. But if we. If we connect to that strength within us and we say, I can handle this, I can do this, I can do it, I can do it, I am doing it. There is a bigger picture unfolding and looking at as it making you stronger, that as you navigate this challenge, you will be stronger. If you really rise up to the challenge and really bring it, if you bring it, you're just gonna be better, and it's gonna be amazing. So that is the idea for today. And I want to read the quote again, because it's so great. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. So the question is, where are you going to stand as you navigate these challenges. Who you gonna be and how you gonna bring it? Have a great day, and I send you lots and lots of love. And until next time.
