A short introductory YouTube video by grief specialist David Kessler introducing himself, describing his personal experiences with loss (the death of his mother in adolescence and the recent unexpected death of his son), and summarizing his professional work. He briefly lists available resources — six books, a 12-episode Spotify podcast, an online support program (Tender Hearts) with 25+ weekly groups, and a grief educator certificate — and explains the channel’s purpose: to offer insight, comfort, and resources for people grieving or professionals helping the bereaved.

Hi, I'm David Kessler. I'm a grief and loss specialist. I know sometimes when you're in the pain of grief, watching a video is all you can do. Some of you may be here because you've been thrown into the unknown terrain of loss and grief. Others of you may be professionals who want to know more about helping people who've experienced a loss. I was thrown into this world when I was 13 and my mother died and we lived through one of the first mass shootings here in the us. It really changed the trajectory of my life and put me on this path of finding help for myself and then for others. I've spent decades now helping people and in different ways and training therapists and how to help their clients. And after decades of doing this work on myself, others learning, growing, my younger son, David died unexpectedly.
I just want you to know this about me because I know this work professionally really well, but I've also had to experience it personally.
Yet this is probably the worst pain of your life that you're in. And so I have lots of resources to help. I've written six books on death and grief. I have a 12 episode Spotify podcast. I have an online grief support program called Tender Hearts where there's over 25 different groups every week to serve those who are dealing with the death of a loved one. I also if you're a professional or you want to turn your pain into purpose, I have a grief educator certificate program. I'll make sure I post all those resources below so you can find them easily. On this channel you'll see a collection of videos. From old videos to new videos. I hope that they will help you just give you a little beacon of light in the darkness. You may also see me interview some familiar people to you. And my Hope in this YouTube channel is to bring you a little insight and comfort. As I always say. I'm so glad you're here and I'm so sorry you're here. I wish you much peace. Thanks for being.
