Short YouTube tip by Kyle Balmer demonstrating a simple prompting technique: append the sentence “Ask clarifying question” to a prompt to force the model to ask follow-up questions (examples: ideal customer, price point, geographic targeting). The speaker shows that answering those questions yields higher-quality outputs and briefly promotes a free newsletter.

Here's a super simple ChatGPT tip that's going to increase the quality of output for pretty much anything you do. What you're going to do is at the end of a prompt is add the sentence Ask Clarifying question. What this is going to do is force chatgpt into a questioning mode and it's going to analyze all your information and use that to ask you pertinent questions. As an example, let's say that I'm doing some writing for a sales webpage and I want to convert more people. I've given ChatGPT the basics, but I've added Ask clarifying questions at the end. Chat ChatGPT is then going to ask me pertinent questions like who is your ideal customer? What is the price point? Should we be aiming this globally or at a specific location? I'm then going to answer those questions for ChatGPT, and that's going to give ChatGPT additional context with which to work. It's going to feed those answers in to its response and it's going to come up with a much higher quality output. If you found this useful, make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter.
