Kyle Balmer (creator) describes reaching ~100,000 TikTok followers in about six months, hitting a growth stall around 97,000 for roughly a month, then reigniting growth by reposting two previously high-performing videos (each ~2–3M views) after trimming and adding captions. Two main lessons: persist through temporary slowdowns (algorithm/timing/luck) and consider reusing older successful content to jumpstart growth.

Finally hit six figures on TikTok. 100,000 followers in about six months. A couple of quick things that I think might be helpful. For the last month, I've had basically zero growth. I stalled out around 97,000 and just stayed there. The one thing that actually kicked me out of the slump was reposting two of my most popular vids. So these were videos that had about 3 million, 2 million views. I downloaded them both, trimmed the beginning a bit, added some captions, and that's kind of it. These are videos I posted initially back maybe four months ago. They both got decent views on them. And more importantly, what's happened is it's reignited the growth and I'm starting to grow a couple of thousand a day again. So I think two different lessons here. The first one is if you find you're not growing, you're not getting what you need from social media, just keep pushing on. Maybe it's an algorithm change, maybe people were just on holiday, maybe you're just unlucky. If you just keep pushing forward, then you have more chances for it to reignite and keep growing. And two, don't be afraid to reuse old content that worked well. For whatever reason, it reignited growth.
