When starting your first online business, you need to keep it really simple. Here's a basic blueprint. First up, find a business niche. It does not need to be the perfect one because you're going to change it later, but it should be a combination of what there's a market for, what you're good at and what you're interested in. You are then not going to build any products immediately. You're going to start an audience in order to verify whether or not there's actually an interest in what you have to offer. Use content marketing in order to build up an audience of about a thousand people and then get their email addresses in a newsletter or some kind of lead magnet in order to continue the conversation with them. Once you have around 100 emails, I would recommend setting up some kind of service or a group cohort and selling it to them. We start with a service, not a product, because it's a lot easier to pivot and it doesn't take as much time to create a service as it does to create a product. Once you've worked with enough individuals using your service, you're going to go ahead and create a digital product based off the common challenges they have, and then you're going to take that digital product and sell it back to the audience you've been building using content marketing.
