A woman describes being ignored in male-dominated rooms where men won't make eye contact with her, notes that only 4% of funding goes to women while men get the rest, and says the constant disrespect pushed her to therapy. She had to fight for basic respect.
I'm not this huge feminist. I love men. I think men are awesome and men have created amazing things in this world. But men have also created those little rules. We would be in a circle and I might be the only woman there and men would talk to each other, looking at each other in the eyes and not even make eye contact directly at me. 4% of women get money. The rest is going to men. I know they're a lot higher, but they're not high enough.
Yeah, it's not equal. Women are held to a different standard. He doesn't get treated the way a woman who's in that position I found that extremely insulting.
Literally, James, I went into therapy over it. Like, I had to fight for the respect.
