A parent describes taking their infant to a routine checkup where a doctor pushed vaccination and a nurse gave an unlisted extra shot that caused a reaction. The clinic's records didn't match what happened, breaking the family's trust in doctors and sparking them to research vaccines and nutrition instead.
Chapters
The doctor actually laughed at us when we questioned the safety of vaccines. We went to our first well-baby visit with a doctor, and the doctor said something very condescending like, hey, if you want your child to stay alive, you're going to get the vaccine. So we just kind of said, okay, the nurse is going to come in with 2 shots. The nurse proceeded to come in and she gave 3 shots, and the baby had a vaccine reaction that night. And so we called the office the next morning. They had only recorded 2 shots. We never even questioned it. We had been trained to just trust the expert and let them do the thinking. This was such a moment for us. We dove in and we started researching. It really quickly moved to food, and we started realizing what we were eating. We just were like, we can't feed our family this food. And that just wasn't gonna happen if we weren't stepping into the driver's seat of our own story and getting out of that passenger seat where we were just like, okay, we'll just do what we're told.
