Why does someone get a migraine and another person doesn't?
So we've done these amazing studies looking at the DNA on 100,000 people with migraine, comparing them to people who don't. So this is really, really accurate information. What we know is that there are nearly 200 different genes linked to migraine, and they regulate 4 different systems in the body. So the first of those is brain chemistry. This is also related to things like anxiety or insomnia. The second is inflammation. This incorporates things like gut health and how our inflammatory response works. The third area is energy production inside cells, inside the little batteries in our cells, the mitochondria. And that can be impacted by things like toxins, which is a product of the modern world that's definitely making people worse. And then the final area is vascular, and that incorporates things like methylation, blood sugar, lipids. So these 4 different broad categories are the underlying biological drivers for people. Once you know what it is for you, that's when you can start honing in on the specific solutions that are going to really move the needle for you and get you to lasting relief.
