How much time do you invest in your brain? Well, look, our brain dictates so many things. It's our largest asset. We've got to look after it, right? But often we're putting things on our skin and we're doing all these other things that care for our bodies, but our brain dictates so much. I came across a product a while ago called Flow State and it's made such a difference. And look, they offer functional mushrooms that sharpen cognition, they really boost energy and definitely strengthen immunity. And they actually use one of their key ingredients is lion's mane. Right? So Lion's mane is popular among really peak performing athletes and those wanting an edge. It's known as the brain mushroom and it's currently being studied extensively for its nerve growth factor potential as a means to ease the symptoms of Alzheimer's and for treating inflammation in the body. The thing I love about these products, they don't taste like mushrooms. You can mix them in with your tea, they're a great replacement for coffee. But I actually love the PM mushroom blend, the evening one. It really helps me sleep and to know that my brain is getting extra nutrients is just next level. The one thing that's really important for me is hey, what' in there? So they have tested heavily at Hill Laboratories for heavy metals, pesticide residue, microbials, and also at Massey University for active compounds. So I urge you, if you love your brain and you want to go the extra mile to nurture it, head on over to Flowstate NZ and you can use the coupon code LEADONPURPOSE to get 15% off.
A huge welcome back. And as you know, this is the time when I do a quick recap of our previous episode just to share some of those golden nuggets. So in our last episode, we had the amazing father and daughter duo who founded New Zest, an incredible company all around, looking at our nutrition and what we can do to really level up. So a couple of key takeaways. Leadership is different in different situations. Leadership is about mentoring. And isn't that so true? You know, I thought when they shared that, that's so true. We don't need the same leaders across the world, across every community, doing the same things, thinking the same way. Our leaders need to be thinking of relevance, cultural relevance, social relevance, economic relevance, ethnic relevance, diverse relevance. So what is your leadership about? What are you doing to lead others and what does it require of you? The question would be, how do I show up as the most empowering leader for my people? Now, your people could be your family. It could be a large team or organization, but that's a great question to ask. Another big takeaway was that good nutrition and lifestyle are so critical for everybody from the top to the bottom. Good nutrition and lifestyle. And it's funny, you know, some of the neuroscientists and different doctors that we've had on, they talk about that deep connection between mind and body and vice versa. Personally, I use an incredible organic product called Nutrient Rescue. Absolutely phenomenal. It's, you know, fully organic, it's a powder. So I just mix them with my smoothie. It's super easy to drink and I feel that something like that is just so powerful. It works great for me. You should check it out if, particularly if you're in New Zealand and I know they are growing an international market as well, but Definitely check out NutrientRescue NZ and if you'd like to get some reasonable discount at about 15% discount, put in the code purpose to get that.
And I guess this to me is so important is employ people who know more than you do. This was an incredible insight that they shared. Take the plunge and employ good people with experience. And when you go back and listen to the full episode and maybe you already have, they talked about really investing in good people. Don't scrape the barrel if you don't have to. If you have to spend that extra $40,000 to get that expert, do it. Or the extra 5% or 7%, whatever it might be, or that extra condition that you want to add in as a bonus to get the great team member do it. Never underestimate the importance of your team in helping you scale and grow and create a culture where people want to show up a Monday morning. So important. So I hope you enjoyed those short takeaways. Hopefully one of them will land with you. And we've got an incredible guest coming up later in the week, so please be sure to hit that subscribe button so you don't miss it. And I'm going to ask you a favor. Please leave me a rating and review. And please share this, this episode or this podcast with a friend who wants to level up their personal leadership and their personal development. But for now, get out there and lead your life on purpose.
