When you master your morning, you master your life. It's going to greatly impact your health, your wealth, relationships and your happiness. And essentially, when you fine tune your morning, you're going to get more time in your day to do the things you love to do. You're going to reduce your stress and you're going to live with more purpose. And look, I get it, you might be saying, hey, I can't get up early, I'm a night owl. So many people seem to function more at night now. Does that mean you're functioning better at night? That's the one challenge I've got for you, is just to look at the quality of what you do at night. And so many people are hooked to their evening routines of Netflix of a glass of wine, of staying up to 12, of eating chocolate. You know, all these habits become installed so difficult to change. So I want you to think about what the quality of your evening is versus what the quality of an early morning would be. And so many people also say, look, hey, it's just in my genetics, I'm not morning person, but I challenge that and say, is that just a limiting belief? Is that something that you're telling yourself? Is that something perhaps that your parents or your siblings or your grandparents also said? Some people also say, hey, I like to sleep in. Is that you? Hey, we all like to sleep in from time to time. But when you look at your life, it's a short one time deal. We're here once, we get to do this thing once. So time really is important. And in the morning we've got the most clarity. In the morning we've got the opportunity to step up and do our best work. And essentially the way I look at it, you get to have your dream life or your sleep ins. You can't have both. And here's what it's going to cost you if you don't make the Most of those beautiful mornings. Now I'm not saying you got to get your butt out of bed at 4am or 4:30am but. But hey, if you get up around between 5 and 6am and you don't start work till 9, you can make a huge difference in your life. What it might cost you if you don't maximize your morning is time. Right? Time is that one resource that we cannot get back. We cannot rewind the clock. Well, at least I haven't found a way to yet. So when you get up early, you get to create those special memories, you get to create a routine, you get to create more time in your day to read that book, to do that exercise, to reflect in your journal, to spend time with your loved ones. What else will it cost you? Well, it's going to cost you financially. If you're sleeping in, chances are your productivity is not going to be as great as it would as if you got up early. If you're rushing to work, when you get to work, are you going to be in a productive mode? If you're a solopreneur are to you going, are you going to do your best work when you're getting up late and rushing to that one to one coaching call or you're trying to serve that client or get items shipped out and you're totally under the weather? I think not. It's definitely going to cost you. And when you look at it, an extra hour, maybe two hours in the morning across the span of 10 years, that's a lot of extra months of potential earning capacity. And when we're focusing on work in the morning, that's when we get our best results. So what else might it cost you? Well, it might cost you your health. How many of you guys struggle to get to do some exercise five, six times a week? How many of you struggle to commit to the gym for more than two or three months at a time? How many of you struggle to prepare a beautiful, nutritious plant based lunch? Well, if you were to get up early, you will have the time to get that workout in. It might be a home based workout, something that you do with a YouTube video or an app, or you might go to the local gym or do yoga session first thing in the morning. Compound that over 20, 30, 40 years, every morning doing a little bit of exercise, it's going to make a world of difference. And when we do work out in the morning and we sweat, it's so incredibly helpful for our stress levels. When we wake up in the morning, our cortisol levels are at their highest. Why is that? Well, if we reflect back and go back in time, when we were sleeping, we were at our most vulnerable. Now I'm talking like way back when we slept in caves or in shelters out in the wilderness, when we were sleeping, we were so vulnerable to attack from, from predators. And so our brain would create this cortisol. And so we would startle if we heard a noise while we slept and we'd wake up to defend ourselves. So our brain, our biology hasn't developed enough to the point where that cortisol has changed. So we still wake up in the morning with a high degree of cortisol in our system, which is a stress hormone. The greatest way to flush that out is, is to do cardiovascular activities. So get in a good high intensity interval training workout. Go to CrossFit, go to F45, get on the bike, go for a beautiful run. That's going to help you reduce your stress levels hugely. Also, one of the greatest, one of the greatest benefits to getting up early is watching the sunrise. It's one of those beautiful, beautiful things I love to do. And just watching the sunrise, it costs you nothing yet. It's a miracle. Absolutely beautiful to get up and cherish it. Now, to tell you a wee story, I had a female client probably about a year and a half ago, and she had real low energy, her business was struggling, her intimate life was lacking. And we started looking at her habits and her routines and she had an amazing late night routine. She loved it. She had these documentaries, she had these drama series that she was watching on Netflix. She enjoyed a little glass of wine as a reward at the end of most days. But her morning routine was subpar. And we started to look at what happened in the morning. She would get up, she would get a cup of coffee, she would rush to work. She would always be behind the eight ball, so to speak. Then we looked at, okay, let's try and shift your night routine. Bring it forward a bit, let's get it a little bit more structured, let's remove some of the alcohol, let's get some meditation in and let's establish a really simple morning routine. About 40 to 50 minutes. And we'll look at some meditation in the morning, a little bit of exercise, a little bit of planning, visualizing. And within six months, her career leveled up. Her business was booming, she was dating, she was happy, she had a ton of energy. The only thing that changed was a couple of little tweaks to her morning routine. That's it. That is It a few little tweaks in the morning routine. Now, here's three ways you can supercharge your morning routine. One, lose the snooze. You heard me. Don't hit the snooze button. Don't allow yourself to hit snooze as soon as that bad boy goes off. Jump out of bed. Get out of bed with passion. If there's someone lying in the bed next to you, your partner's there, you're going to scare the living daylights out of them by jumping out with passion. The first couple times. They're going to think you're nuts. But that's how you start your day. Start it with intention. Do not hit snooze. It's an automated response that snooze hitting. You want to create a new response of getting your butt out of bed with passion. Secondly, alkalize. In the morning, most of us reach for coffee, right? I would say that social media, movies, all these different things we watch, they encourage us to have coffee in the morning. I'll tell you what, I love the smell of coffee. Love it. However, it's not a great thing to put in our body first thing in the morning. Our lymphatic system needs to be alkalized to alkalize our body. The easiest, cheapest way to do it is a glass of hot lemon water. When lemon hits our stomach lining, it's alkaline. So that's the easiest way to do it. And third, your third step to supercharging that morning is to spend a little bit of time meditating or visualizing. Now, I come from Northern Ireland and I never was exposed to meditation or visualization in a practical form. It's something I've discovered as I've traveled the world. It's something I've discovered after interviewing former prime ministers, world champion athletes, Olympic athletes, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. It's one thing that they all have in common. They all meditate. They all visualize. So take a moment to visualize your day. Walk through your day in your head. Visualize scenarios. Visualize your response to maybe some challenging scenarios. And guys, that's just three simple ways. One, lose the snooze. Two, alkalize. And three, meditate or visualize. So get out there, guys, and enjoy these new mornings. Embrace them. And it's that time. Get out there and live your life on purpose.
