I was so incredibly lucky to sit down and interview the EA of Steve Jobs. She was a former EA for one of the world's most influential leaders. Naz Beheshti is an incredible thought leader. She's just published a book called Become the CEO of your Wellbeing. Here's a few things I wanted to share. Just if you want to go back and listen to the full episode, please do. But if you've only got a moment right now and you want to pick up those key insights, here they are. What are the red flags that burnout is just around the corner for you? Hard time sleeping, racing thoughts at night? Maybe you're too busy, slightly irritable from time to time, experiencing anxious and stressful thoughts, not eating so well, making poor choices in that area, maybe feeling a bit under the weather, aches and pains because as I said, there's a massive wellness gap in our society and we need to close that gap. When I mentioned any of those things hard time sleeping, racing thoughts, too busy, irritable, poor choices around food. Would you connect or relate to any of those? If you do, perhaps you're on the verge of burnout or you are burning out, you're being overwhelmed, overworked, over stressed. If that's the case, I'm going to urge you to take on Naz's mantra of pause, breathe, choose. So to be the CEO of your well being, you got to pause. You have to be mindful in order to take a pause from an anxious situation. And look. Once you've paused, take a moment to breathe. It's a moment to reset, to ground yourself. And mindful breathing allows you to choose better. And that's the third part of pause. Breathe. Choose. You can now make better choices. Choose more wisely.
Self.
Direct. Self. Correct. Choose to be happier and healthier. And look Last but not least, one of the biggest takeaways that Naz learned from Steve Jobs was well being drives success. I want you to think about that. When you are unwell. You're going to make poor choices. You're going to be in a disempowered, energetic state. You're going to respond to others in a way that maybe lacks patience and empathy. Your well being is the platform of your success. Don't discount that. Don't shortchange it. What could you do today to improve your well being? Maybe it's jumping into your calendar and seeing when your next weekend away is. Maybe it's seeing when your next two week holiday is. Maybe it's seeing how many gaps you have between the meetings each and every day. Maybe it's when is your next walk in nature? Maybe it's looking at your grocery list and seeing what needs to be removed and what needs to be added. Maybe it's booking in for that yoga class that you've been talking about for the last three months. Whatever it is, I want you to take a step right now to improve your well being. And each and every one of us can do that. No matter how great you might think it is, there's always a way to take it to that next level. And that's what high performers do. High performers and high performing leaders are constantly looking at. What's the 1% improvement I can make today? What is it for you? I'd love to know. And hey, if you've got a moment, I haven't asked in quite a while, but if you could just take a moment to leave me a rating and review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, that'd be hugely, hugely appreciated. And please share the podcast with some friends. I interview former world leaders, thought leaders, neuroscientists, philanthropists, billionaires, CEOs of Fortune 200 companies. If you think the podcast would benefit anyone, please do share. And just to leave you with three last thoughts, choose better. Feel better. Do better. I hope that serves you well, and let's get out there and lead life on purpose.
