How much time do you invest in your brain? Well, look, our brain dictates so many things. It's our largest asset. We've got to look after it, right? But often we're putting things on our skin and we're doing all these other things that care for our bodies, but our brain dictates so much. I came across a product a while ago called Flow State and it's made such a difference. And look, they offer functional mushrooms that sharpen cognition, they really boost energy and definitely strengthen immunity. And they actually use one of their key ingredients is lion's mane.
Right?
So Lion's mane is popular among really peak performing athletes and those wanting an edge. It's known as the brain mushroom and it's currently being studied extensively for its nerve growth factor potential as a means to ease the symptoms of Alzheimer's and for treating inflammation in the body. The thing I love about these products, they don't taste like mushrooms. You can mix them in with your tea, they're a great replacement for coffee. But I actually love the PM mushroom blend, the evening one. It really helps me sleep and to know that my brain is getting extra nutrients and is just next level. The one thing that's really important for me is, hey, what's in there? So they have tested heavily at Hill Laboratories for heavy metals, pesticide residue, microbials, and also at Massey University for active compounds. So I urge you, if you love your brain and you want to go the extra mile to nurture it, head on over to Flowstate NZ and you can use the coupon code LEADONPURPOSE to get 15% off foreign.
In our last episode, we had the amazing Rabi Gupta on the show. He's the co founder and CEO of evobot, an AI based corporate gifting platform. Essentially what that does is helped you to build relationships, ships using AI and it makes it super easy for businesses and individuals to send highly personalized gifts. It's quite Incredible. They serve thousand plus businesses, including giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, AT&T, Silicon Valley bank and Cigna. Now look, I want to share with you some of the key takeaways. Rabi thinks outside the box. He thinks very differently. You know, he's the guy that left the comfort of India, his homeland, and moved to Silicon Valley where he knew absolutely no one. Now, some of us have been there, some of us have immigrated and landed in a foreign land with nobody around us that we knew. And that is hard, but particularly if you know English was your second language and you land in a country where everyone's fluent in English and it's their first language. So many of Rabi's challenges were huge, but he jumped in and they looked at how to make the best of the situation. So I wanted to share some of the key takeaways. The first was this. Leadership is constantly changing and evolving. We need to surround ourselves with good leaders who share similar values to us and use them as mentors. This is a big one for Rabi and obviously someone who's built a business, scaled it and sold it, as he did with his previous app in India with over 2 million monthly users, he knows what it takes to have good mentors. So my challenge to you right now is who is mentoring you? Well, the fact that you're listening to lead on purpose says a lot about you, says that you want to listen to other mentors, listen to great speakers, great coaches, great leaders, great CEOs. So I'm delighted that you do that. Do you have a coach? Do you have a mentor? Do you have someone that you meet with regularly that holds you to a higher standard across all areas of your life? If you don't, my challenge to you is go out and find that person.
Next big takeaway was this. Listen to your heart and then take action. Don't wait. Often we hear a message from our heart and we don't take action. And we sit in that indecision and that festers and continues. So don't wait. Move forth, whatever it is in your life. If you hear an inner whispering telling you to go do that thing, hey, Go have that conversation. Well, then listen and take action. Today.
Business is all about relationships and the power of the ecosystem. I love how Rabi talks about it as an ecosystem rather than a network. Network has so many negative connotations. Who likes going to networking events? Pretty much none of us. Right. But he talks about it as an ecosystem. It's all about building lasting relationships. AI, in this case artificial intelligence, helps build those relationships.
Most of your business, if you're in.
Business, you know it's going to come from existing customers and relationships. So when you can really look after them at a very personal level, then that can really build those relationships up. This software I've used the software Rabi sent me a gift. Essentially, it's a little bot that asks me questions about what I like and my family and my interests and hobbies and. And then it sends me a gift. So the gift is on its way and I will update you as the what arrives. But it's, it's quite exciting how it works. It feels very, very personal. When you are solving a fundamental problem as a business, that's when you're doing great things and creating a sustainable business that will last a long time. You know, when you're not solving a problem, then you're probably not going to be around for long. And never forget, this was a big one. Never forget the law of reciprocity. What you give and give and give naturally comes back. Now, I'm not saying that's an expectation, that's not a, hey, this has to happen for me to give, I must receive. But there is a law. And when you give, give, give, give, give, it naturally comes back. So what are you doing right now to give? Are you giving of your time? Are you giving of your wisdom, of your money, of your love? What are you giving today? You might be taking things today. You might be taking feedback, you might be taking payment or wages, or you might be receiving that cup of coffee at Starbucks. But what are you giving? My challenge to you today is what's one thing you can do for someone else and expect nothing? Return.
When you're in your comfort zone, you don't take as big risks as if you were outside of that zone. When you're outside of your comfort zone, you're more likely to take the risks you need to because you're already uncomfortable and it's like you're in a pressure cooker. So there's no other option. So what are you doing today that's outside of that comfort zone? Could be a cold shower, could be a Difficult conversation could be lifting up that phone when someone rings rather than sending it in a voicemail and texting them. Let's see if we can get out there and lead with, you know, our comfort zones being pushed, always challenging ourselves to move forward, move outwards, try the thing that we haven't tried that maybe even scares us.
I very recently went way outside my comfort zone. So I would class myself not as a religious person. I'm certainly not atheist. I would say I'm possibly more agnostic. But I've started working with this amazing healer. I would say Bex is a spiritual healer and.
She has been doing some work around releasing emotions. It's been quite incredible, but very recently we did.
A releasing of emotions followed by a past life regression. And it was really quite interesting, really quite enlightening. And I'm not going to go into all the details in it right now, but it. It was very emotional and it was very real, something I never really expected. It's outside my comfort zone for sure, but I'm so grateful I did it and I will go into detail at some other point with it, but for now, I just want to say, you know, that's one thing for me that certainly pushed me outside that zone and I'm glad I did. And I'm pondering it and thinking about it and learning from it. I certainly gained some massive wisdom from it. So whatever you're doing, I want to challenge you to really stretch yourself beyond that comfort zone. Look forward to connecting with you in next episode. But for now, get out there and lead your life on purpose.
Sam.
