Understanding Human Design and the Power of Authentic Connection with Justin Breen

In this episode of the Super Connections podcast, host Jennifer K. Hill interviews her friend and business partner Justin Breen, a Manifestor in Human Design and co‑founder of the Epic Fit Network and Corvia.ai. The conversation weaves together the host’s "Golden Triangle of Connection" framework—self, others, purpose—with Justin’s personal journey of self‑discovery through Human Design, numerology, and Gene Keys. Justin explains the rarity and traits of the Manifestor type (7‑8% of the population) and his 6/2 profile, describing how he feels things on a soul level, the need to repel when over‑energized, and his drive to give endlessly. They discuss how these insights translate into authentic connection: using tools like jovianarchive.com for free Human Design charts, tokenrock.com, and Gene Keys to understand oneself and others, and how such self‑knowledge reduces the tendency to label behavior as "misbehaving." The dialogue also covers Justin’s entrepreneurial ventures—Epic Fit Network, Corvia.ai, upcoming events, and his bestselling books—highlighting his desire to serve rather than chase money. Jennifer shares her own neurodiverse background, the importance of authenticity, and practical advice such as daily three‑task focus from mentor Melissa Bernstein. Throughout, the episode blends personal anecdotes, resource recommendations, and philosophical reflections on purpose, encouraging listeners to discover their own design, embrace authenticity, and use that awareness to forge deeper connections.

Welcome to Super Connections. I am your host, Jennifer K. Hill, helping you with the Golden Triangle of Connection, where you will super connect to yourself, others, and your purpose. Join me each week as I will share from some of my favorite tips and tools for super connecting, and I'll bring in some of my favorite friends and thought leaders To help support you on your journey to super connecting to the life of your dreams. Hello friends, and welcome back to episode 6 of Super Connections Podcast. I am Jennifer Cahill, and I'm so grateful and honored that you choose to spend a few minutes of your week with us here as we deep dive into how to super connect to yourself, others, and your purpose, or what I call the Golden Triangle of Connection. Which is very apropos given that our guest today was actually the man who inspired this whole idea, which we'll dive into in a moment in the episode. So I have with us none other than Justin Brain, who is a dear friend who I had the privilege and honor of being introduced to about a year ago through another mutual connection. And now I get to say business partner and co-collaborator, as he is the CEO and co-founder of the Epic Fit Network. With his wife Sarah Breen, and actually our network, which I joined them as the chief connections officer earlier this year, was named one of the top five masterminds on the planet by Business Traveler magazine, USA Magazine. His next book, Epic Journey, will feature an introduction from Deepak Chopra, and the book will also be turned into a documentary with star actor Gary Sinise providing the narration. Brian is also the co-founder of Corvia.ai, an education platform that teaches participants how to create songs using artificial intelligence. In addition, Brian's second book, Epic Life, featured a foreword from Peter Diamandis and has been the number one overall book for sales on Amazon Kindle. It also made the Wall Street Journal and USA Today's bestseller list. Justin, you're a friend. I know you don't give a crap about any of these accolades, but we still gotta tell people about them. So. Sedge is like, thank you for being here, my friend. You are—
You have to see my absolute disgust listening to this. It's funny, but oh, the word. So I just looked it up. Thanks for that nice intro. I appreciate it. I literally don't care about that stuff, but I do appreciate you saying it. But the— so I was looking up the word connect, the etymology of it, and it's from late Middle English, be united physically, from Latin connectere, from con, together, and nectere is bind. So it's like literally. uniting physically. When connecting was like originally started, it was people would have to be in person. And then this is an example of that. You don't have to be in person anymore, obviously, to connect. And but it's still being united physically, just in a virtual world. So the new physical is a virtual space. So it's pretty interesting, pretty interesting to see that in real time.
Something I really respect and admire about Justin is he'll always deep dive into the etymology of different words. And in fact, I think we met ago or so in February of 2024. And Justin and I were recording a podcast. If you want to go check it out, it was on the Regarding Consciousness show I was hosting before this one last year. And I love this man so much. So at the end of the show, we stop recording and Justin looks at me and he said, that's it. That's everything. You're going to do talks on that. And I was like, excuse me? So if you don't know Justin, he's a magical, magnificent manifester. Try those 3 M's and say them 3 times fast. But that is what he is. And he was the one who predicted that I would wind up doing this show, Super Connections, and talking about the Golden Triangle of Connection. So I'm so grateful that you're one of our very first guests on this show, Justin, because you were really one of the very first super connectors that I met. And I know you probably don't identify as that, but one of the things that I appreciate about you, Justin, is that you're so generous in your listening and in your Inspiration and your ability just to connect people in the most beautiful way. I've made some incredible friendships. So talk to us a little bit about how you discovered your own capacity to super connect yourself, others, and to your purpose, which you're doing magnificently.
That's a great, it's a great question. I guess I'll, I guess I'll be tactical with that answer to be a relator. But so a manifestor in Human Design, that's an assessment, Human Design. You're a projector, so projectors have to be invited into things and then they ask good questions. So that would make sense that you're hosting a show where you ask great questions. And then, so a manifester is very rare. It's 7 or 8% of the population. So I guess to really simplify what it means is I can just feel things on a soul level. I don't really overthink anything. I don't really think about anything any— Actually, I don't. Most people, because manifestors are 7 or 8% of the population, they're very confused by me, like overwhelmingly confused, which is okay. Manifestors actively have to repel people because if I gave this energy to everyone, I would self-destruct. That's just what it is. It's just what it is. And then it's not to create problems. It's actually to create peace and order. And then manifestors have to tell people how they feel. They have to do it. So whether I love someone or I'm really annoyed, or like, I don't understand why someone's doing this, I have to tell them. That's how manifestors operate in the world. And so I'm almost 48 years old. I think today I am 48 years old. Including? We'll see if that manifests. But the, to be like this, it's very difficult at times. Only manifestors really understand that. However, manifestors, for whatever it's worth, they're the ones that actually create things that change the world, and then everyone else will take that energy. And these are all God-given gifts. I take zero credit for them. I'm just doing what, you know, I was supposed to do from a higher power.
I love this, Justin. And you didn't even know this, but our last episode was a solo episode I just recorded the other day, and it was all about Human Design. And I had sent—
Of course.
In case you're just catching this episode because you're a Manifestor and somehow intuitively you knew it. In case you're just dropping into this episode and you didn't listen to the prior one, one place of many that you can go to get your free Human Design chart is jovianarchive.com. And Justin, I don't know if you've tried this. I was geeking out with another friend on a call earlier last week and she said, Jen, this is great. I have this chart. She's a manifesting generator, which is one of the other types we talk about. Exactly. And she's, what do I do with all this information? So I put it in ChatGPT and I said, help this person understand her design. And it was pretty incredible. So I do love books like Understanding Your Client's Design, Robin Wynne. Though, let's talk for a moment, Justin, of How you use your capacity as a manifester. Like you said, you might repel some people, yet many people— that's arguable because you do win a lot of awards. You do have bestselling books. Somehow or another, I don't think you repel as many people as you think.
Thanks for saying that. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Again, I'm just going by the assessment. Like you actually have to, you actually have to do that. But what I've, what I've learned is, or accepted and appreciated, I guess, is this is just what it is. And to create the most, to create the most change and abundance, that it's compassion for yourself, and then compassion for everyone else, self-love, and then love for everyone else, no matter where they are. Or no, it doesn't, no matter where they are in the life. Path or whatever that is. And then, and then I found that Human Design, and then I just found out about numerology, life path things a couple months ago. I found those 2 are actually the best 2, if you wanna call them assessments. I don't really even consider them assessments because it's just when you were born and where you were born, that there's no logic in any of it. It's just how it, there's no, you can't, there's no logic. And everything that's happened for me in the last year, no, there's no logic in it. None. There's zero luck. If you would've told me I'd started 2 AI music companies, I know nothing about AI or music. The songs, the songs just started creating. Now human musicians are actually making them into real songs. That just started a couple days ago. But how you describe it, you're like, oh, you didn't know that our last episode was about Human Design. I didn't, but I did. I don't know how, I don't know how that happens, but literally what happens And then any manifester listening to this would be like, oh, that makes sense. But basically what happens 5 to 10 times a day in conversations like this, I'll just say something and then someone will be like, oh, I was just thinking that, or that just happened. I'm like, and they're like, how'd you know that? I go, I don't know. It's just how it is. So I really want people to understand if it's okay, it's like to be like this in the human world. This is my life. Like I'm still trying to be a human in the, in I'm trying really hard to be a human in this world, but it's really difficult because you're just not, you don't fit in at all. It's just even for people like us. So it's a constant, it's a constant learning of trying how to amalgamate somehow being a human when you have these gifts that like, it's just what it is. And then a lot of people think it comes off as egotistical, but it's not. It's just, you have these gifts that Most people just don't have, they just, they don't, which is okay. If everyone was like this, the world would be a disaster. I'm grateful to have these things and then hopefully help as many people as possible with these gifts.
Yeah. What you just touched on is so powerful, Justin. And I want to highlight that for anybody watching or listening. Like Justin, I didn't understand people most of my life. I can say it's like, what are these strange human things and why do they say one thing and do another? And it's really been out of tools like Human Design and numerology that I've been able to deep dive in understanding myself. Remember, when we talk about the Golden Triangle of Connection, the understanding and love and acceptance of the self is what allows for the love and acceptance and understanding of others and the ability to follow your purpose. But for most of us, we're like a rudderless ship because we don't
have
time to get to know ourselves. So that's why, as Justin can attest to this, One of my favorite things to do is to ask every person I meet, what is your birthday? And find out their Human Design. Quick little cheat sheet. You can go to tokenrock.com is one of my favorite tools. Or if you really want to have your mind blown, Gene Keys, G-E-N-K-E.
That's another good one.
Yeah. Another really super fun one. And why do I suggest all these? Because it starts with yourself. The more you understand we're all designed differently, we have different words, different nuances, different designs. Then we stop treating one another as cookie cutters. And as Alison Armstrong once taught me, we stop treating each other as if we're misbehaving XYZs. None of us are misbehaving. We're all just designed differently. And if we can learn to love and appreciate that and do it for ourselves first, then that allows it in others. Justin?
Yes. And with Gene Keys, my favorite part of that one is there's no one for me to follow. No one. There's no role model. There's no guidance. Like it literally says that. Of course. And then again, like, these are things that I strongly recommend anyone listening or watching to this, they actually look into that themselves. But the life path numerology, I'm a life path 11. Shocking, extremely rare. It's called a master number. Most people are 1 through 9. You're a 5, which is endless freedom. So life path 11s are the most spiritual, most emotional, most sensitive. Most romantic, most psychic. So you combine Life Path 11 with Manifestor, and then, which is very rare, and then Gene Keys, No One to Follow. Like the, I actually asked ChatGPT this, I don't know, about 6 months ago. The odds of all 3 of those is like 1 in 20, 30 million, which make, that would make sense. And Kolbe, K-O-L-B-E, that's a great one. I'm a 9 Quickstart, you're a 10, which is really, that's 1 out of 200 people. Yeah. I'm a 9 Quickstart, which is really rare. So it's like the odds of being like this, and I know everyone's their own person, but like from an assessment, like an assessment perspective, the odds of being like me are like astronomically low.
So this is a great question then, Justin, because you are your unique, beautiful self in the ways that you are. How do you connect to people? Because you do it so well. You've referred me so many incredible humans who just sing your praises, and many people have read your book and know what you're up to in the world. I love your daily gratitude. How do you connect to people in spite of the fact that you are such a special unicorn?
Thanks for saying that. It's— I'm— I will say that like most people, they just can't under— they'll never be able to understand what it's like to be like this, which is totally fine. But I'm overwhelming— overwhelmingly giving. Like, there's— I just, endlessly give. I guess that's the way to do it. And then whether it's good or bad, I see right through people immediately. And there are very, there are very few people who are like you in our world, in our entrepreneur world, who genuinely just give. And it's very painful for me because I see right through people where they're just like, they're saying this, but they're not. I know who they really are. Like, I can see it as I'm sure you can too. And because being a manifester, like when I know how people actually are, I just, I, I just stopped being how I am with them. But if they're like you, then I'll just endlessly, I'll just endlessly give. But understanding how the world actually operates, like the word business means anxiety, peizignis. The word sale means dull and dirty. Religion is to bind. So like when you see how the world's actually operating, it's very difficult to operate in that because like I I genuinely don't care about money. I've tried to care about money, but I just don't. I just don't care. I don't care about business stuff because it's anxiety. I just don't. There's a really great book I'm reading. It's about Chinese hermits. They just disappeared into the Chinese mountains and then they live off the land or whatever. But in Human Design, I'm a 6/2. The 2 is actually a hermit and then the 6 is a role model. Um, so like naturally, oh, I did an Akashic reading. That's a past life reading. I was an Indian yogi living by myself in a past life. You can, I think I introduced you to that person, Nimesh. I can do that after this.
Yeah, I love him. He's wonderful.
Sure, of course. So like naturally I belong living in a cave somewhere, but to do the most good for society, I have to venture out of that cave and then inform people about what's actually happening in society. And it's just what it is like to partner with— I'm very grateful for it— to partner with people like Dr. Deepak Chopra and then Gary Sinise doing documentary with the music companies. There's some real power players associated with that, and that will do the most good. It's not because anyone's better or worse than anyone. It's just that's the That's just what it is. And then I genuinely do not understand why people play small or don't want to play at the highest level. I literally don't understand it. I don't understand why people use money as an excuse or they talk like they're doing it, but they don't actually do anything because they're complaining about money or not invest. Like, I literally can't understand that because like, why would you be on this planet and If you have these gifts, why wouldn't you do whatever it takes to use those gifts? Like, I genuinely can't understand that. So it's not to be rude. I just like, why would you have this great life and opportunity? Why would you make an excuse not to use those gifts? But that's most of the world. It just is. Yeah.
It's funny. I'm going to tie in 2 things here, Justin. One thing I heard you say that I want to reiterate for anyone listening is authenticity. I think what Justin's touching on is just owning who you are, having Not known I was neurodiverse up until about 7, 8 years ago. And then finding out I was autistic helped a lot of other people figure out their autism. And out of that, people say, why do you wanna find out? Isn't it just a label? Just like having a label of a Life Path 11 or a Manifestor or whatever it is. The more knowledge you have, it is power. Wisdom is the true power, but first you start with knowledge and then eventually you grow your— to wisdom. And so I invite us all to think about this sometimes that Number one, be your authentic self. Stop trying to be somebody else. Like you, Justin, I'm a 6/2. I'm a 6/2 projector.
Oh, you are a 6/2. That makes perfect sense.
Yeah, that's probably why we get along so well. So the 2 side of me, when I have a party or go to a party, I literally go hide from my guests. Like, I can be social and then bye-bye, everybody's, it's Jen's party. Where did she go? There are 400 people here. Oh, I'm hiding. Yeah. Because I've hit people capacity.
Too much energy.
Yeah, but knowing that about yourself, this is the gift of Human Design numerology. Gene Keys, all of these wonderful tools that Jess and I have mentioned in this episode. That's my intention for you. Go out there, find your truth, find your authenticity, and then use that to carve out the path in your life. And in fact, I know I just introduced you to this person. I was listening to his book earlier, and I'm going to recommend it to all of you. I'm sure we'll have him on the show at some point. So Poppy, PJ Poppy Danuso, wrote a book called Manifest Anything You Can Imagine. And to piggyback on what Justin just said, don't let things like money, fear, uncertainty stop you. We all have the capacity to carve out the life of our dreams. And that's what my gene key says. My gene key says, I'm here to wake up humanity and to help them realize that life is one great big adventure and that we all have the courage and the joy and the ability to live the life of our dreams. So that would really be my message for all of you. And Justin, I know that You have some new exciting things coming out. We have, of course, the Epic Fit Network. We have an incredible event happening in Portland in October. If anybody would like to join us, we would love to have you there. You can find out details on the Epic Fit Network website. And Justin, where else would you like people to go to connect with you or find out more about the work you're doing in the world?
Oh, thanks. The Epic Fit, theepicfit.com is that site. And then Corvia, corvia.ai. Core means heart, via means path. So heart path, corevia.ai is, is that site. But there's so many things in the works right now. I feel like I'm starting a new company every week. We'll see what, we'll see what happens in the next month or two, but I'm very grateful for our friendship. And then, oh, a 6/2 Human Design. So that's the exemplary human. So exemplary means either very highest form of good or absolute, you're going to destroy everything. There's no gray. So no in between. So that'll be fun to see which one. I think we're, I think we're highest form of good. I sure hope so. But there's no, it's either this or this. There's no in between, no in between, Jen. But I will go all the way for highest form of good. Like,
you and me both, buddy. We're making a commitment right here, right now.
All in.
All in. All the 6/2s out there with us, may we be the most exemplary humans. And no matter what your design is, We have the courage and the discipline to follow your design, follow your heart, and let go of the naysayers. Don't listen to them. Listen to things that uplift, inspire you, and take actions every day. One of my business mentors who you know, Melissa Bernstein, Melissa said to me, Jen, what she learned in building a billion-dollar company is every day have 3 things that you must do that day and don't do anything else till they get done. So
she has 6 too.
I don't know if she is. I'd have to, I know she's a generator or many gen, but yeah, we'll have her on the show as well. There's so many inspiring people I can't wait to bring you. So thank you, Justin, for being here with us today. And thank you to each of you for tuning in and listening to us this week.
