Interrupting the Loop | A Grounding Technique for Overthinking

When your mind loops on the same worry, name five things you can see around you right now. The shift breaks the pattern because your mind can't stay in the loop while focusing on what's real.

Welcome. I'm so glad you're here. You know the loop. The same worry circling. The same conversation replaying. Your mind isn't solving anything anymore. It's just spinning. You can't outthink a loop, but you can interrupt it. Right now, you're going to name 5 things you can see around you. You're going to actually look around and name them as you see them. So it's going to look like 1, my phone, 2, a book. Now you go as I count. 1. 2, naming something else. 3, continue. 4. And now 5. Notice what that did. For a few seconds, your mind had to leave the loop to go find something real. That's the trick. You don't fight the thought. You give your attention somewhere else to sit. Next time the loop starts, you don't need 5 minutes of silence. You need 5 things you can see. That's enough to break the pattern and come back to now. I'm sending you so much love. Is there someone who comes to mind that could use a little peace or maybe an interrupt in their own loop? Please share this with them, and please subscribe to keep returning to peace in under 2 minutes a day. Thank you so much for being here with me today.
