Jeremy Ethier explains how fitness influencers cherry-pick their best photos with perfect lighting and muscle pump, a look he says happens maybe 1% of the time. After 10 years of lifting, he still posts his most impressive shots. Stop comparing yourself to that 1%.
Questions this video answers
Over 10 years.
About 1% of the time.
This is what I look like with a pump and great lighting. This is what I look like without a pump and not so good lighting. I've been lifting for over 10 years and I prefer showing you guys what I look like in the best lighting with the best pump. But the reality is, that's what I look like maybe 1% of the time. Fitness influencers, myself included. I only pick the most impressive shots to share with you. So if you're comparing yourself to only what you see on social media, you're comparing yourself to a filtered version of reality, and that's not fair to you. Instead, focus on your own journey and what truly matters, which is the progress you're making compared to where you started, not some unrealistic standard.
