Turning Point: Why I Almost Quit (And Why I'm Not) #habittracker #habits #BurnoutRecovery #podcast

Jesse Ewell nearly quit his podcast after 630 episodes due to fatigue and burnout. He's staying on to focus on shorter, deeper conversations about faith, business, marriage, and leadership, with more guest stories and a private community for listeners.
Chapters
630 episodes in, and I almost shut it down. But the real reason I didn't quit shooting my podcast and I'm hitting record today is because business and the entire business arena is shifting specifically inside of coaching, the health space. And, you know, I want to kind of COVID this today, but there's this crazy thing that, you know, I've been running this podcast since 2019, actually the end of 2018, and I've just kind of gotten bored of it. And probably the last couple months, I think I put out one podcast and I really wanted to kind of get back into doing this because it's really valuable for me as much as it is for you as the listener. So, you know, here's, here's the thing is, like, in today's day and age, people are faking success while losing themselves in the process. And anytime I feel like I'm not speaking from, you know, truth and things like that, I won't. I just. I don't want to record. I don't want to really do anything. And so getting back into this has really kind of got me refocused. It's got me to a place where it's like, hey, I don't want to. I don't want to give people filtered advice. I don't want to motivate people to do things. I want to wake people up and give them a wake up call and give them an exact plan of, hey, how do I get out of, you know, the current situation I'm in? How do I change? And I want to kind of talk today about this now. You know, my episodes, I try to keep short. So if you're listening to this, it's probably only going to be about 10 to 15 minutes. But I want to get into, you know, just having a real conversation. So, you know, the beginning. I really just built my podcast. I wanted to talk about habits, I wanted to talk about, you know, routine thing like, things like that. But what you find out is you kind of get bored with what you're talking about. And so, you know, as much as my podcast has. Has grown, I kind of grow in the process. And the things that I once maybe talked about are not things that I, you know, really care to talk about a lot anymore. You know, times, you know, you kind of go through things in your life where, you know, you're talking about them on your podcast. I think it's good because it kind of works you through them at the same time. But I want to go deeper in my podcast. I want to talk about faith. I want to talk about business, I want to talk about marriage, I want to talk about, you know, health and things like that. But I want it to be relatable to the audience too. So I always want to kind of tie it back into faith, business, you know, marriage, health, and. Because I think that we can learn, we can learn maybe in business, you know, something in marriage or maybe something in faith is relatable to our business or something in our health is relatable to another area of life. And I think that's, you know, really important. I never wanted a podcast that I was going to sit here and entertain people. I always wanted a podcast where I could actually call people to change, call people to kind of activate what's inside of them. And that's really what I want to get back to in my podcast. So, you know, a lot of times I think we think of like, okay, this is a Reb brand, but I really think of this as a recommitment. You know, I want to talk about the business landscape. There's so many things shifting. There's AI, you know, there's different things in sales and marketing, but, you know, what's tried and true, the foundational things in business, I don't think are changing that much, but you have all these other things that you can add to it to really accelerate. Obviously, you know, I want to talk about health. I think that's, you know, really important, especially, you know, mixing that in our business, in our faith, and even in our marriage. I think the, the biggest thing is, is, you know, if we have better health physically, you know, spiritually, then, you know, we're going to show up better in our marriage. We're going to show up better in our business. You know, I want to talk about leadership, so bringing faith into the business conversation, bringing faith into the leadership conversation. Because I think foundationally those things are all built, you know, from faith and, you know, just understanding how all that works together and then obviously talking about, you know, new habits, daily habits that really hold things together. Together. You know, there's definitely habits in our business. There's definitely habits in our marriage. There's definitely habits in our health, and then there's also the habits in our faith that keep us really locked in. So I want to, you know, even though this is, I think this is episode 631 or 632, you know, maybe you're someone who's been listening to this in the early episodes, you know, thanks for being a part of the habit based lifestyle podcast. But if you're new here, you know, I want to tap you into some new things that we're going to be doing. And I want to make sure going forward that this is going to be more in depth, it's going to be real, it's going to be raw, it's going to be having conversations with other friends, people in my network that, you know, it may be some uncomfortable conversations, not necessarily with them, but just with what we're talking about where maybe a lot of people aren't going there. But I think that, you know, the more that we can have kind of that truth based conversation, the more that's going to lead to transformational work, transformational change. And that's really what the podcast has always been about. I've wanted people to feel like they could listen to this and take one thing away from it and take action from it. And as they take that action, they begin to transform, you know, how they show up in their business, they begin to transform how they show up in their health, they begin to transform how they show up in other areas of life. And that's, you know, really the goal of this entire podcast. And why I do what I do because I want to have the conversation that most people aren't willing to have. I want to have a conversation on here that most people would have to hire a coach to have that same conversation. And we're going to sit here and have it one on one. So if you're taking any way, anything away from this episode, this is a recommitment to, you know, coming back to just being able to have an honest conversation and being able to tell the truth. Because the truth leads to transformation. And transformation is the ultimate thing that is much deeper than just change. And so, you know, that's really what this is about. That's really what I want to drive people to. And that's the foundation of why we live a habit based lifestyle is so that we can have that true transformation. So share this with, you know, someone else who may, you know, need a reset. They maybe need something new. Get ready because we're going to be recording some new episodes. I'm not sure how many I'm going to. How many I'm going to be doing every week, but I'm going to be doing at least one a week. So I know for a while I was interviewing a lot of clients, I'm going to continue to do that, but I want to kind of do it from more of a personal standpoint, not so much just results oriented. I want to do kind of like their story, their take because I have some really cool clients and you know their stories are amazing. I want to be able to share those and inspire others. So anyways, so this is kind of my podcast. We're getting back to that recommitment to listen to the truth and to speak it so that we can get into better transformation. So guys, I'm excited to be back on here recording. I look forward to the next episode after this. Share this with your friends, share this with your circle and I'll see you soon.
