What I'm seeing is a real gap, said Dr. David Polk, between what employers want and what they're actually seeing. I'm Jim Bouchard, the guy who teaches you how to think like a black belt. This gap is costing American business billions of dollars every year. And what is it that employers want? Discipline, focus, self-motivation, engagement, and workplace respect. Any deficiency in any of these key mindset areas can cost you $2,000 or more per employee every year. On the other hand, an organization that invests in this mindset can outperform the competition by as much as 500 to 700%. Wanna close that gap?
Love that question. What do you think about when you hear the words black belt or you see somebody wearing one? You think about discipline, you think about focus, excellence, courage, confidence, respect. These characteristics are not optional in business or any other area of your life. The mind of the master is really beginner's mind. That means continual learning, growth, and development. It means never allowing yourself to be satisfied with the status quo. It means embracing the principle that perfection is not a destination, it's a never-ending process. That's the key to mastery in any aspect of your life, personal or professional. The highest achievers embrace this principle and they live it. Every one of these characteristics— discipline, focus, excellence, courage, confidence— needs to be practiced. And they need to be cultivated. They need to be developed. And that's really what we're doing. Mastery isn't something just for the chosen few. Mastery is your key to personal and professional excellence. Business and career environments are getting a lot more competitive these days. When you embrace this process of mastery, you're becoming more valuable. You're increasing your value in the marketplace. You're increasing your value to the people you work for and the people who work for you. You're going to leave the room understanding how to think like a black belt.
That's really the only promise I'm going to make.
You rise above the competition. You realize your full potential and you operate at peak levels of performance. You know, just bringing up that question really illustrates that, that struggle between what we call hard skills and soft skills. And I'm teaching ideas, I'm teaching soft skills, but my question back to you would be this: What process, what technical skill does you any good without the mindset, without the right attitude to drive that process forward, right? And that's what we're really talking about here. I'm not here to make your business better, I'm here to make your people better. They're gonna make your business better. Let's get started.
