What other lifestyle factors do you consider crucial in managing mental health conditions?
Getting good restorative sleep. 1/3 of Americans aren't getting enough sleep, just for the record. Turn off your phone, turn off the television, turn off the computer, and go to bed at a good time. And then wake up and keep your room dark and maybe get some light in the morning. That can be a sleep plan for a lot of people. And the third thing is reducing or eliminating harmful substances. So for some people, that can be excess alcohol. For others, it might be marijuana use or heavy CBD use or other recreational drugs. Those things are actually increasing in prevalence. About 1 in 10, I think, United States adult men meet criteria for alcohol use disorder, which is alcoholism. Most of them don't even know it, but those are the sad statistics, and it can actually impair brain metabolism.
