You have a quote that opens up Livewired that says, every man is born as many men and dies as a single one. What does that mean to you? We drop into the world half-baked. Animals generally drop into the world pre-programmed. We drop into the world and we absorb everything around us. This is what's known as brain plasticity, and we have taken over every corner of the planet because when we come into the world, we can learn everything that's happened before us, and then we can springboard off the top of that to invent new things. As a result, when you come into the world Exactly where you drop in, in terms of your culture, your time in history, that ends up putting you on a particular trajectory. In other words, if your brain was born 1,000 years ago, you would have been a totally different person. This is the sense in which we drop into the world with all kinds of potential, and you make choices in your life, and you end up the day you die as one person because you've gone from this huge optionality to who you become.
